- Across the street from the recreational lake is a Landal holiday park, you can use the facilities at the park such as a playground and Beachclub de Vlegge for a snack and a drink.
- Beautiful nature reserves such as Fayersheide, the Wierdense Veld and Sallandse Heuvelrug offer plenty of opportunity for walking and cycling. A nice cycling route is the Twentse Hooilanden.
- The Engbertsdijksvenen nature reserve is nearby. Part of the area consists of 'living' raised bogs and has a protected status. An Eldorado for bird lovers, nature lovers and hikers in every season.
- Peat Museum in Vriezenveen
- Canoeing through quiet streams, past meadows, farms and cows. At the Linderbeek in Den Ham you can rent canoes.
- Visit places such as Ommen, Dalfsen and Gramsbergen. Ommen is an old fortified town and also a Hanseatic city with, among other things, the National Tin Figures Museum and a flour mill.
- Open Air Museum Ootmarsum
- Slagharen amusement park in Hardenberg is an experience for children. Adventure park Hellendoorn is also nearby.
