Picture this: you've decided to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind for a while and visit the quiet, rural village of Lemele, tucked away in the heart of Overijssel. It is a place that is not only known for its tranquil charm, but also for the breathtaking nature that can be found around it. The soothing sounds of nature will put you to sleep, and in the morning you will wake up to the song of the birds. 

You will start your adventure with a walk through the forests of the Lemelerberg, which have graced the landscape for centuries. The mountain is part of the famous Sallandse Heuvelrug, a nature reserve known for its hilly terrain, vast heaths and forests. Here you will regularly encounter the shepherd with his sheep. As you walk along the winding paths, you feel the peace and quiet come over you. The silence is only interrupted by the chirping of birds and the rustling of the leaves. It is the ideal place to completely unwind. Cyclists and hikers come here because of the extensive network of cycle paths and walking routes and to experience nature in its purest form. Lemele itself is only a small village. For groceries you can go to Lemelerveld or Ommen. In nearby Ommen, you'll find several farms and local shops where you can buy local products such as cheese, cold cuts, jams and honey, a fun way to discover the local flavours. On the Vecht in Ommen it is wonderful to relax on one of the many terraces, but you can also relax on the water. You rent a canoe or kayak and glide over the river in peace, the nature around you is so beautiful that it seems like you are sailing in a painting. The town breathes history and culture. As you stroll through the cozy streets, you will pass the Old Church, the mills and the stately estates that bear witness to a rich history. In the center you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee and when the day comes to an end, find a nice place to relax with a tasty regional dish in one of the atmospheric restaurants. And if you come in the right period, you can enjoy the annual Ommer Bissingh for a long time in the evening when the city is colored with music, markets and traditional activities. It is a place where you will quickly feel at home, even if you are only a temporary guest. The village community is close-knit and friendly, and there is a cozy atmosphere.

In the immediate vicinity there is a lot to do for both big and small adventurers and you are sure of entertainment for indoor and outdoor activities. You can reach new heights in the Outdoor Climbing Park Ommen and break indoor speed records at Kartplaza Actionworld in Nijverdal. For the little ones, for example, the Kijk-, zorg- en doe boerderij t Zandeinde in Lemele, the Speelbos in Nijverdal, amusement parks Slagharen or Hellendoorn, the artificial ice rink in Deventer or indoor play paradises in Ommen, Hardenberg and Wijhe.

A short distance from Ommen you will find two historic Hanseatic cities: Zwolle and Deventer.
