The cottage
The idyllic monumental round house was built in the 30s and was used as a bathhouse by the lord of the castle (the late Mr. Willem Frederik Jan Laan, 1891-1966). Later, the forest house served as a hunter's hut for some time. And now, in 2025, it has become a beautiful guest house. Sleeps up to 4 guests and available all seasons.
Het Poorthuysje is located on the Singraven estate, in the middle of the forest, on a spacious plot of about 1000 m2. Beautiful in spring and summer, but with all the scents and colors perhaps even more beautiful in autumn and winter. A tributary of the Dinkel meanders around the house. The cottage has its own entrance gate and private parking for several cars.
Once inside, the round space with loft will surprise you. You look all the way to the ridge and immediately notice that it feels cozy and cozy inside. The authentic details are easily recognizable. For example, the walls are plastered with clay and lime plaster and there is a traditional terrazzo floor in the bathroom. A nice 2-person room with box bed, bathroom with shower and toilet, sitting area with wood stove, dining area and a well-equipped kitchen are located downstairs. On the loft you will find a large double bed and a number of spacious built-in wardrobes for all your belongings.
