Ecolodge de Parel was largely built by myself in 2018 with sustainable, degradable materials such as wood, wood-fiber insulation, loam and eco-paint. There are also solar panels, water-saving showers, waste water reuse and a high-efficiency wood-burning stove (mass heater).

In addition to the atmosphere that this gives, there is also plenty of luxury in the house, a TV with Netflix, wifi (can be switched off), a guitar, a good music installation with CDs and connection for spotify, a dishwasher, 2 bathrooms with private toilet and shower, washing machine and dryer. There are two spacious bedrooms with 3 sleeping places per bedroom. Folding baby bed is also available. Washbasins are located in the bedroom so you don't have to wait for each other.

Outside there are several terraces, in the summer with a hammock. There is also a sauna with a heated outdoor shower. Together with the wood stove, this also makes the house a very nice place to be in the winter. The house is very well insulated and the clay finish gives a healthy indoor climate. Clay cleanses the air and acts as a moisture regulator. We live on the same property and will personally welcome you and give tips about the house and the area

My name is Johan Beilschmidt, 48 years old. With my wife Wendela and son Milo, I have been living in Schoorl for 3 years. We moved from Amsterdam to live closer to or in nature. We succeeded. In recent years I have renovated our own house and built the Ecoldoge. My passions are meditation, silence, singing, walking along the beach and swimming in the waves. I also love beautiful people around me. A kind of small community.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

If the renter wishes to cancel the booking for any reason, the renter must always confirm this by e-mail to the landlord (even if this has already been communicated to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:

cancellation more than 1 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
Cancellation between the 30th and the 20th day before the start of the rental period: 10% of the rental price
Cancellation between the 20th and the 10th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
cancellation less than 10 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price

If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, he will continue to owe the full rent.

The Schoorl Dunes are a dune area located to the west of Schoorl in North Holland. They are the highest (55.4 meters) and widest (5 kilometers) dunes in the Netherlands. The ecolodge is located between Bergen and Schoorl and here the dunes are at their widest. At the end of the gerbrandtslaan is a 5-minute walk into the dunes for walking. A beautiful walk through meadows, deciduous forest, pine forest and when you walk through heathland and drifting dunes. You can walk to Schoorl aan Zee, but it is a brisk walk of approximately 1 hour. It is a large area and taking a compass or / and map is recommended.

De dichtstbijzijnde stranden zijn: Bergen aan Zee, Schoorl aan Zee, Hargen en Camperduin. Bergen aan zee is een prachtig strand met verschillende strandtenten op het strand. Onze favoriet is de opgang bij Stand Noord. Vanaf hier lopen richting Schoorl is het rustig. Bij strandtent Noordelicht is het heerlijk om zitten. Er is hier ook naaktrecreatie. Onze favoriet en alleen per fiets bereikbaar is Schoorl aan Zee. Er is 1 strandtent, alleen in het hoogseizoen geopend. Het is hier nog rustig en vriendelijk, ook op de drukke dagen in de zomer. Ook een prachtige fietstocht van ongeveer 30 minuten. Bij hargen is het strand hel breed. Het is makkelijk bereikbaar met een veel parkeergelegenheid.

With 45 restaurants, Bergen has a huge range from affordable ones, such as the Taverne (our favorite) to very luxurious, such as the Merlet restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star. There are also plenty of places to eat in Schoorl, Groet and Egmond aan Zee. Recommended are Natural Restaurant in Egmond aan Zee, La Terazza Italian restaurant in Bergen, De Taverne Bergen for the affordable daily special, Pure and Passion in Schoorl for fantastic Pizza, pasta and homemade ice cream. Eetcafe Lamoraal in Bergen we find very friendly in cozy.

Bergen has an extensive range of very nice shops for a small place. There are many interior stores, clothing stores such as Sissy Boy, but also a Hema. You can find everything you need here. There are also 2 supermarkets, the AH and the Deen. The AH supermarket is open every day until 9 p.m. Furthermore, 2 organic stores, the Organic and Odin and a nice market on Saturday. Schoorl also has enough stores for daily shopping and other stores. Alkmaar is around 15 minutes away by car. Alkmaar is a pleasant city with a wide range of shops. The traditional cheese market at the Waag is on Friday.

Our favorite in Bergen is Gonzales coffee. Bergen's best coffee with coffee from its own roasting house. In addition, Kardeis in Schoorl is great. You can drink coffee, enjoy lunch, do organic shopping and there are beautiful homemade gifts for sale. Also the terrace with the best view of Schoorl. Strand Noord in Bergen aan Zee has a good menu.

The climbing dune in Schoorl is a nice dune to climb on and roll off again. On top of it you have a great view. At the bottom are cafes, restaurants and a supermarket. Further activities are mini golf in Bergen, Sea aquarium in Bergen aan Zee, Fossus Stones and Minerals, Surfing with the Boys of Schoorl, Mountainbike course Schoorlse Duinen, Film theater Vue Alkmaar, Canoeing.

Through the app Mindbody you can book lessons at the fantastic Sekoya Center (around the corner) and at Moon Yoga Club in Bergen. If you would like a massage, you can contact us for tips in the immediate area. A little further away, about 36 km, is Fort Beemster. The Fort where soldiers used to be located, has now been transformed into a unique Spa & Wellness with special baths and saunas. Thanks to countless innovative applications, the Fort is not only a unique place but also in terms of sustainability. For example, the fort and the baths are heated by the residual heat from the saunas and the benches of the saunas are bricked up. The rainwater is reused and solar energy is used.
