Bungalow with veranda, sunny garden and private entrance. Unique spot on the water with unobstructed views; the rowing boat is waiting for you at the jetty! Or go paddling in the Canadian canoe. Laze in your hammock and stare at the water or splash into the water from your swimming ladder. Enjoy this bird-rich area (the black-tailed godwit and harrier in the breeding season) this spot is mainly for peace seekers, nature lovers, cyclists and hikers. There is good fishing, e.g. even casting a (casting) rod from the garden is possible. There are sun and shade areas to sit in the garden. The bungalow is fully equipped for 3 people and in the evening you can sit outside on the attractively lit covered veranda.
Through the veranda you enter the living room with two patio doors and windows all around. The open kitchen has a 5-burner gas stove with large oven, dishwasher and you can choose from 3 ways to make coffee. There is a large round dining table with a view of the water. Furthermore, a TV, audio/DVD system (with movies), a spacious bookcase with tourist information and many books with something for everyone. The piano is tuned once a year. From the living room you enter the hall / corridor with a bedroom on either side. The bathroom has a walk-in (rain) shower, large sink, hair dryer and toilet
Schardam is located just below Hoorn, on the dike of the IJsselmeer. Visit the new city beach in Hoorn at 10 minutes by bike! A beautiful cycle path has been built along the dike between Edam and Hoorn. Sometimes you cycle on top of the dike, or underneath or also outside the dike along the IJsselmeer.
Schardam is located on the West Frisian ring dike and there are beautiful marked cycling routes (cycle junction 83 is in Schardam). You can also rent (e-bike) bicycles at GreenMobilityCenter in De Rijp: these can be delivered/picked up at the Koggenbungalow with delivery costs. (see their (*CONTENT HIDDEN*))
The bungalow is located in the middle of the ribbon development of the quiet village; We do not think the bungalow and the grounds are suitable for small children or receiving visitors. You can swim from the garden, at the recreation field of Schardam on the IJsselmeer or the Hoorn beach.
In the area nice historic villages such as Edam, Marken, De Rijp, Monnickendam and Enkhuizen. There are plenty of nice museums and activities such as the Zuiderzee Museum, Museum of the 20th century, the steam tram Hoorn-Medemblik, in the summer the Cheese Market in Edam, the ferry service Marken-Volendam etc. and not to forget the beautiful city of Alkmaar. There are also several markets and farm shops in the area with cheese, a fresh milk tap and local fruit. The most extensive market is on Saturdays in Hoorn.
In the summer, all kinds of events 😊 are organized in the area such as the annual "Water Day" in Edam (a kind of free market), whisper boat trip in the Rijp, concerts, exhibitions, boat trip with a drink through the old harbor of Hoorn....... The local city newspaper gives you all the information but you can also go to the tourist office in the center of Edam and in the old harbor of Hoorn.
The historic old town of Hoorn is located on the IJsselmeer and has an attractive harbor with brown fleet and cozy terraces. By car you are in 20 minutes in Almaar, with 35 minutes in Amsterdam. The beach of eg Bergen aan Zee 40 minutes. The bungalow has a 4 **** VVV inspection, is located with the garden on the South-West: from 11.00 am there is sun in the garden until the sunset)
