Enjoy this bird-rich area, this spot is especially for those seeking peace and quiet, nature lovers, cyclists and walkers. There is good fishing, you can even cast a fishing rod from the garden. There are sun and shade areas to sit in the garden. The bungalow is fully equipped for 3 people and in the evening you can sit outside on the attractively lit covered veranda. Schardam is located just below Hoorn, on the dike of the IJsselmeer.

The bungalow is located in the middle of the ribbon development of the village; We do not think the bungalow and the grounds are suitable for small children or receiving visitors. You can swim from the garden, at the Schardam recreational field on the IJsselmeer or the Hoorn beach. Schardam is located on the West Frisian ring dike and there are beautifully marked cycling routes (cycling junction 83 is in Schardam). If you rent (e-bike) bicycles in Hoorn, they will be delivered to the Bungalow.

In the area there are nice historic villages such as Edam, Marken, De Rijp, Monnickendam and Enkhuizen. Plenty of nice museums and activities such as the Zuiderzee Museum, Museum of the 20th Century, the Hoorn-Medemblik steam tram, the Cheese Market in Edam in the summer, the Marken-Volendam ferry service, etc.

The beautiful old town of Hoorn is located on the Ijsselmeer and has an attractive harbor with a brown fleet and recently a beautifully landscaped city beach. By car you can reach Almaar in 20 minutes, and Amsterdam in 35 minutes. The beach of Bergen aan Zee, for example, 40 minutes.
