In the outskirts of Zelhem (hamlet of Wolfersveen) in a unique location in the Achterhoek, holiday home with its own forest plot and meadow. The cottage is fully equipped and has a large garden on the edge of the forest, with wide views over the grassland.

The location is magnificent! There are various walking and cycling routes in the immediate vicinity. Within a few minutes you are in the center of the village of Zelhem (with all amenities). Ruurlo, Hengelo and Doetinchem are also within a radius of 10 km. But of course there is nature! Within a few minutes you can walk in a wooded area (including nature reserve 't Zand and Baaksche Kamp). You can visit beautiful castles in the Achterhoek, including Ruurlo Castle (Museum MORE), Vorden Castle and De Slangenburg Castle.

If you like horseback riding, mountain biking or golf, you can really get your money's worth in Wolfersveen and the surrounding area. There are several good restaurants in the vicinity. From your own holiday home you can see birds, hares, rabbits, squirrels and deer.

My name is Martijn van Os (46 years old) and I have been living and working in the central city of the Achterhoek: Doetinchem for over 12 years. I enjoy the city, but I also love to leave the hustle and bustle behind me every now and then and enjoy the Achterhoek landscape and the tranquility of the hamlet of Wolfersveen. At the six-person dining area you can dine for hours or play a board game together. There are various board games available.
The bedroom on the ground floor is a nice cool space and is also ideal for people who have difficulty walking.
From the veranda you can enjoy a wide view.
Rear of the house. From the living room you can walk straight into the terrace on the garden.
In the garden there are several terraces with dining area, lounge set, sofa, sunbeds and various parasols.

In the adjacent forest area de Schans, there is a large fishing pond and there are various walking, cycling and mountain biking routes. Here you will also find the English Schans, a historic place. It played a major role in the Battle of Grolle in 1627.
In our house there is a map with many walking routes in the area.
Almost nowhere else in the Netherlands is the variety of the landscape so varied; Forests, meadows, flower verges, streams, hedges, farms and castles form a beautiful bocage landscape.
Enjoy one of the many regional products or a beer or wine brewed in the Achterhoek. The Achterhoek has a lot to offer. Both in Lichtenvoorde and Groenlo there is a cozy square on the market with restaurants and cafes and many terraces.
The Vragenderveen and Korenburgerveen and are part of a unique piece of raised bog with a rich flora and fauna is definitely worth a visit. There are various walking and cycling routes around the peat area and there is a watchtower where you have a beautiful view of the area.
Do you like peace and quiet, walking, cycling, photography, or horseback riding? In the Achterhoek you will find an enormous amount of special forests, fens, heaths and waters. There is plenty to discover. Put on your walking shoes and discover the nature reserves of the Achterhoek.
During a walk in the Zwillbrocker Venn nature reserve, just across the German border near Groenlo, you can watch flamingos. A special bird area and definitely worth a visit.

The porch provides additional extension of the outdoor living. Sheltered from rain and a lovely shady spot during a hot summer day.
The cozy living room with patio doors to the terrace and garden is a wonderful place to relax.
For young and old, there is plenty to discover and do in the immediate vicinity. Experience the Achterhoek mentality; Friendly, down-to-earth and helpful. Experience nature in combination with culture and historical elements. Feel welcome and enjoy the idyllic places.

The bedroom on the ground floor is wonderfully cool and also ideal for people who have difficulty walking.
In addition to the 2 bedrooms, there is a separate laundry facility on the upper floor.
Enjoy all the different vistas.
It is wonderful to stay in the very spacious natural garden (1200m2). A place to completely unwind, in the middle of nature with many vistas, paths and its own herb garden.
From the veranda you can look straight into the forest. Enjoy all the birds and bird sounds and if you are lucky you will also spot a rabbit, squirrel or deer.
