The hotel feeling in a cottage!
Chalet De Twee Beuken, located on Landgoed Kerkendel in Kootwijk, is a nice place to relax together and discover the area. Whether you come for long walks, beautiful bike rides, nature, peace and quiet or just a few days of carefree enjoyment: there is always something special to experience in the Veluwe. The chalet is fully equipped and there is room for 4 people and a maximum of 2 dogs. Bath, bed and kitchen linen are included and extra bath linen can be booked.
De Twee Beuken is located on a small-scale holiday park with a few simple facilities such as a fitness room, tennis and badminton court, jeu de boules court, playground and kids corner.
Once you arrive at the park, you will find a parking space for 1 car next to De Twee Beuken. You can store your bicycles in the shed where there is also charging option for your bicycle battery.
Entrance:
In the entrance you will find a spacious coat rack, shoe cabinet and a place where you can hang the dog leash(es). The fire extinguisher hangs next to the front door and a first aid kit is on the coat rack. There is a carbon monoxide/smoke detector for safety.
Kitchen and living room:
In the well-equipped kitchen you will find various spices, cooking utensils and appliances. In addition, it is nice to know that there is coffee (cups), tea, sugar, creamer, olive oil, kitchen roll, hand soap, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, garbage bags, aluminum foil and baking paper. Do you like (cheese) fondue? There is a fondue set with fondue plates and forks. And of course a package of kitchen linen. In short, you only need to pack your own clothes, we have taken care of the rest!
In the dining area you will find a cozy dining table where you can enjoy a delicious meal or play a game. The sideboard has a wide range of glasses and crockery and various games at the bottom. In the drawers you will find tea lights, manuals of the equipment present and various handy items. Next to the sideboard, you will find your welcome gift; a delicious wine from a local vineyard.
Air conditioning will be available from mid-October 2026. The sliding doors and the opening window are equipped with mosquito nets, so no uninvited guests enter in the summer.
The sitting area is a nice place with a view of the outdoors. There is a comfortable sofa and 2 lovely armchairs. The cozy pillows and blankets contribute to a cozy feeling. It is not for nothing that our previous guests say that they feel at home here!
There is a reading basket with garden magazines, there are nice books and there is a smart television and a bluetooth radio. Would you rather look outside? Then use the binoculars provided, there is so much beauty to see! Of course, you can also take the binoculars with you on a walk.
The lighting is controlled via Philips Hue, in the extensive information folder you can see how to control it. A smoke detector is available for safety.
Dog(s):
Your dog (and possibly 2nd dog in consultation) is welcome. There is enough space to put down your own blanket / basket. We love dogs but we like to keep the sofa (and beds) clean, so we appreciate it if you do not allow your dog on the sofa and on the beds. In the shed there is a food stand with 2 food bowls that you can use. In addition, there is a dispenser with dog poop bags outside the shed with a waste bin underneath.
In the information folder you will find a number of important matters regarding dogs in the park and in the surrounding area. There is a large off-leash area within a 7-minute drive.
The garden is fenced so that your dog can roam freely, the dog is not allowed outside the fenced garden area, so we ensure that the rest of the garden remains safe for birds and other garden guests.
In the hall, on the coat rack is a tin of dog biscuits, feel free to grab something for your dog!
Bedrooms:
Both rooms are equipped with bedside tables and/or shelves so that your phone can charge overnight. All beds have a night light. The beds are made on arrival and there is a nice bath linen package.
Both bedrooms also have a ceiling lamp with built-in fan for the warm nights. The windows are equipped with mosquito nets so that you will not be bothered by insects at night.
The larger bedroom with double bed has a wardrobe and a large full-length mirror. The smaller bedroom with bunk beds has a wardrobe. There is also an extra duvet and pillow here.
Bathroom:
The bathroom was completely renovated in 2026 and is equipped with many conveniences; a well-ventilated shower with care products, hanging toilet with toilet paper supply, sink with sufficient storage space, hand soap, a hair dryer and bath linen.
Garden:
The fenced garden (garden fence +/- 1 meter high) offers various seating options. On hot days it is good to stay under the 2 beautiful beech trees. Two lovely lounge chairs, the cushions of which can be found inside, are made for hours of relaxation. At the pond you will find a cozy seating area, a cup of coffee in the sun becomes even better. Seat cushions for the garden furniture and the set by the pond can be found in the cushion box next to the chalet.
There are several feeding places for the birds; Nuts and seeds can be found in the shed. You will be surprised how many different birds can be found in the area.
Immediate surroundings:
The Kootwijkerzand with surrounding forest offers hours of walking pleasure. Is it raining? In the shed you will find umbrellas to borrow.
