Our house is located on the Buitengoed Bos en Enk and is hidden in nature. The house is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest. Our garden continues into the forest, which makes the garden a lovely leafy forest garden where you can sunbathe or find a nice shady spot to enjoy the peace and quiet and spot the many birds, squirrels, pheasants and even deer. . The resident peacock of Bos en Enk also regularly visits neighborhoods to 'literally' get his share.

On the ground floor there is a living room with open kitchen, television, bedroom with a double bed (made upon arrival!), shower and toilet. There is also a utility room with washing machine and freezer. On the first floor there is another bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom. This bedroom has a door to the upper terrace.

The Achterhoek has had a special place in our hearts for decades. We have been visiting the Achterhoek regularly since the early 1990s and we also lived in beautiful Borculo for some time. We are still very connected to The Hague through children, grandchildren and friends. Now with this beautiful holiday home we can combine living by the sea with the greenery and nature of Bos en Enk.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Explanation of rates
We rent out the house including bed linen, bath and kitchen textiles, energy and wifi. Prices do not include tourist tax of 1.25 euros p.p.p.n., 75 euros for the final cleaning and a deposit of 100 euros that will be refunded within two days after departure if everything has been left in good condition.

Deposit
To secure the booking, a deposit of 1/3 of the rent (without other costs) is due. No later than 14 days before the start, the rest of the total amount (minus the deposit) must be paid.

Cancellation and insurance
The reservation can be cancelled free of charge up to 2 weeks before the start date. After that, the deposit remains due. In case of cancellation in the week before arrival, the entire amount is due. A possibly. Cancellation and/or travel insurance must be taken out by the renter himself.

The cottage includes:

Wi-Fi and energy
Bed linen/towels, tea towels and dishcloths
Basic stock of coffee, tea, sugar, milk, oil, vinegar, p/z, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products etc.

At Landgoed Slangenburg you will find forests, fields, avenues, canals, ponds and meadows. In the spring, the blooming rhododendrons are a feast for the eyes. The centerpiece of the estate is Slangenburg Castle from the 17th century. As early as 1354 there is already talk of a castle in the woods near Doetinchem. There are many different walking routes and at the castle you can enjoy a delicious lunch or coffee with apple pie. There is also an estate shop with regional products next to the restaurant.

Wines from the Achterhoek: they are also strong in that! Visit Wijngaard de Oosthoek, located close to the Slangenburg estate, on the edge of the Heidenhoeksevloed nature reserve. Everywhere along the road you will come across small stalls where you can buy fruit, vegetables, egg-made jam, chutney, eggs, etc. for a small amount.

At museum Smedekinck you can see how the inhabitants of an Achterhoek rural village like Zelhem lived and worked over the centuries. The museum is housed in an old, restored farmhouse. There are various activities throughout the year. For more information see www.museumsmedekinck.nl.

Beautiful sculpture garden and gallery in a beautiful location. Open from June to September and well worth a visit.
