Bungalow

Sunny and secluded holiday home at recreation park 't Broeckhuys in Ewijk.
The house is located on the edge of the park in a beautiful green area with a beautiful spacious garden of 650 m2.
There is a spacious sunny living room, open fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with spacious shower and toilet. The house is wheelchair accessible.
The two bedrooms are on the first floor. One room has 2 Auping single beds (90x200), the other has a 2-person Auping with 2 separate mattresses (2x80x200).
The house has been recently renovated. The furniture is modern design. Downstairs we have an oak floor, upstairs is oak laminate, hygienic and yet attractive.
We have paid a lot of attention to the interior of the house. So it is not your average holiday home with a minimal and uninviting interior.
The location is free, so that you can enjoy the garden in peace.
You can use everything in and around the house. There is garden furniture and a barbecue.
The surroundings of Ewijk-Beuningen and Wijchen are fantastic. It is a great area for cycling enthusiasts! The mentioned villages have many shops and there is a variety of restaurants and entertainment venues.
Towards Arnhem you will find Burgers Zoo and the Open Air Museum.
And of course Nijmegen is a great city to visit.
Germany is nearby, Kranenburg or the pleasant city of Kleve where it is cheap to refuel and do your shopping.
For those who love castles, there is also plenty to see, including in the nearby village of Hernen. A second castle can be visited on the other side of the Waal, namely Doornenburg. Nature lovers will also get their money's worth in this region: the Ooipolder where you can cycle and walk for hours. Beautiful cycling trips can also be made in the vicinity of the house.
We have a beautiful golf course nearby in Wijchen: De Berendock. For garden lovers, the Gardens of Appeltern are within cycling distance. You can also make beautiful trips along the rivers.

We are a retired couple living abroad most of the year, in Spain in winter and France in summer.. Bought this house in 2021 to have a pied-a-terre in the Netherlands. We are few, so that is why we would like to rent it out regularly.

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

For hikers, close to the German border is the Duivelsberg (approx. 24 km) with on the top, next to a pancake restaurant, the remains of the motte Mergelpe from the year 1000 AD. A motte is an artificial castle farm. Especially in pre and post journeys it is wonderful to walk through the hills, in autumn with an abundance of sweet chestnuts. To the south, via junctions route 59,60,61, 67, 66 you drive back in time almost a century through Leur, a town with a beautiful church, a cozy village café and here too a motte dating back to the tenth century ! A little further on the Maas, we find a nice old and small town, Batenburg, with a castle ruin that dates back to the middle of the twelfth century. And last but not least, the Gardens of Appeltern (approx. 8 km) are more than worth a visit. Close by is a large recreational area with water sports facilities and restaurant Moeke Mooren. For smaller children, the Tivoli theme park is worth a visit, as are The Africa Museum and Orientalis (the Holy Land Foundation). And in Nijmegen, the Leemkuil is an absolute must for the little adventurer. We recommend that you consult the websites of the mentioned attractions for opening times and rates.
