General
Our cottage "Slow Down" in the forest is located in a unique place on the Veluwe in the Natura 2000 area in Emst (municipality of Epe). The holiday home was built in 2003 and it has a warm atmospheric atmosphere. It is a beautiful place for recreation and to relax. The cottage is situated on a small-scale park and stands on a spacious fenced plot of 1,450 m2. Ideal for letting the dog roam freely. On our plot there are several cozy places to sit in the shade or in the sun. There is a hammock, there are 2 sunbeds and chairs to laze in.
Environment
When you arrive you will immediately experience the silence, the greenery and the trees. At dusk you will see bats, you can hear the owl and you may just spot a wild boar or deer. You are really in nature with sounds and proximity to these animals. If you walk outside in the evening you will notice that it is still really quiet and dark. You can see through and over the trees, when it is cloudless, the stars and moon are bright in the sky. In the morning you will be woken up to a range of bird sounds. What could be more wonderful than waking up in this way...
Landschap
The shops are nearby (Emst 4 km, Epe 6 km and Vaassen 5 km). In the summer you can use the camping shop and catering facilities of the adjacent campsite De Wildhoeve (fresh rolls).
There is much to see, experience and discover in the area. For example, there are Het Loo Palace, Apenheul, Cannenburgh Castle, sauna de Veluwse Bron (3.5 km). Recreational lakes, Het Kievitsveld and Heerderstrand are also close by. Information leaflets about the area are available in the cottage!
A little further away are e.g. places Vierhouten, Zwolle, Apeldoorn, Deventer and Elburg.
