The chalet is part of a quiet park "de Bonte Vlucht", Hanendorperweg 512-8
The chalet is located on the edge of the Het Loo crown estate nature park. It is a wooded and heathland area with squirrels, roe deer and wild boar and now also a badger.
In addition, there are many cycling and walking opportunities.
Walking through the forest towards Gortel is an ice cream shop; Rosetree.
The chalet is within walking distance of Camping De Wildhoeve. Here is a brasserie and a snack bar/eatery and in high season a camp shop. 
The village center of Emst with  a Spar Supermarket with post office and pin possibility.
On Tuesdays there is a fishmonger at the Spar with delicious dishes.
