Holiday home Het Poggenschot

Our Holiday Home Het Poggenschot is located on a very quiet cul-de-sac in our residential area in the outskirts of Aalten. In recent years, we have completely converted one of our barns into a holiday home with our own hands. 

By using sustainable and reusable natural materials, we have preserved the authenticity and atmosphere of the building as much as possible. We have transformed the building into an attractive and comfortable holiday home, equipped with all conveniences and comforts. 

If you want to relax and you like walking and cycling, this place is definitely worth a visit. 
The area is quiet and is characterized by the typical scenic landscape (farmlands that are crossed by (sand) paths with tree-lined avenues). If you want to do something more cultural, you can be, for example. Winterswijk (e.g. Museum Villa Mondriaan), Bredevoort (book town) or Aalten itself (National Hiding Museum) nice places for a visit by car or bicycle.

If you like birds, you can hear and see many different birds in the immediate vicinity (including collared redstart, greenfinch,  blackcap, golden oriole, pied/green and black woodpecker). The morning and evening skies can be beautiful here in all seasons, as well as the nights, deep dark or very light during the full moon. Furthermore, there are the Zwarte cross and Countryfair in the area every year in the summer.

At the end of September, Bredevoort will be beautifully illuminated again during the light festival Bredevoort Schittert.
If you want to go out with children, there are various swimming options (De Slingeplas, Swimming pool in Bocholt, 't Hilgelo). A little further away is a nice maze and climbing forest (Ruurlo). Winterwijk has an entertainment center with go-kart track/bowling alley/glow golf and Prison Island adventure game.
