It is a pleasure in this comfortable, luxurious and fully furnished nature house that is located on an unpaved, dead-end country road, far from civilization and about 150 meters from the public road. The cottage is located in SE - Friesland in the beautiful scenic landscape of the Frisian Woods near the 3 provinces point (Friesland, Drenthe and Groningen).
The comfortable living room with a magnificent view over the beautiful park garden, has a cozy sitting area with mood lighting and a modern gas fireplace and is equipped with patio doors to a large deck which is fully equipped with garden chairs, garden table, outdoor lighting and a fire pit for an ultimate "outdoor living feeling".
The cottage also has an open kitchen with all appliances, a bathroom with toilet and walk-in shower, three bedrooms, the two large ones are suitable for two people and the small one for one person. All opening windows and doors are also equipped with mosquito nets and the ground floor is completely barrier-free. Wifi, books and games are also available.
PS: In the cottage it is not allowed to smoke, fry and/or gourmet or fondue inside.
The nature house is located in a wooded bocage landscape in the middle of vast heaths and beautiful forests and is located directly on marked hiking trails and cycle paths. The landscape is ancient and beautiful and is a beautiful area to discover on foot, by bike or by boat (for example via the Turfroute). Nearby nature reserves include the Duurswouderheide, the stream valley of the Koningsdiep, the Bakkeveense dunes, 't Oude Bosch, the Fochteloërveen and the National Parks the "Drents-Friese would" and "Alde Feanen".
With a bit of luck you can observe the deer, badgers, owls and buzzards from the house. You can also find amphibians such as the grass snake, viper and salamander nearby.
In terms of culture, the area is versatile such as: nice villages (Bakkeveen, Appelscha, Norg) and towns (Dokkum, Grouw), very worthwhile museums, good restaurants, tea gardens, nice (farm) shops, galleries, sculpture gardens, boat trips (Eernewoude) and city walks.
For golf enthusiasts, Beetsterzwaag has one of the most beautiful golf courses in the north of the Netherlands (Golf & Country Club Lauswolt) and the Thialf skating hall in Heerenveen is half an hour's drive away. The abundance of nature, tranquility and beautiful views are certainly ingredients for a very pleasant stay in this nature house "de Dobbe".
