A Frisian church as a holiday home, that's 'ievers'. In the heart of Fryslân, near the Frisian lakes.
The former reformed church still exudes the atmosphere of the past. The pulpit, organ and tower clock (1537) are reminiscent of ancient times and form a nice contrast with the modern interior.
The church hall is now a nice living space, with a long dining table for 10 guests and an open kitchen. At the kitchen island you will find a 6-burner stove and all the appliances and kitchen inventory you need.
There are also the following rooms:
- 3 bedrooms with double bed, washbasin and French doors
- 1 bedroom with bunk beds and 2-person sofa bed
- 2 bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet
- utility room with washing machine and dryer and iron
On the 1st floor is a spacious sitting area with television and audio equipment. From here you also have access to a raised terrace, with a view over the vast Frisian countryside. Around the church is a spacious garden with old fruit trees, several terraces, a barbecue and a swing.
Special Facilities
Ievers is ideal for the elderly and disabled thanks to a bedroom with a high/low bed and an emergency bathroom/toilet. There are no thresholds and a platform lift and paved garden paths make everything inside and outside easily accessible.
Lots to do
Enjoy the luxurious accommodation and visit beautiful Eleven Cities towns and tourist attractions such as the Waterpoort in Sneek and the world-famous Planetarium in Franeker.
Please note that apart from guide dogs, dogs are only welcome in special cases. Do you still want to take your four-legged friend on holiday? Then choose our other church, De Kraak van Van Dam - close to the Wadden Sea. from Yevers, a day trip to Groningen or a visit to the Wadden Islands is easy to do.
ievers in Fryslân is not a party location, so parties are not allowed.
