Sunny apartment on the Sneekermeer with southwest-facing garden. Ideal for the sporty person seeking peace and quiet. There is enough excitement without mass tourism.

Ground floor with private entrance and parking space. Living room with garden view and oblique view of the lake. Semi-open sleeping area with double bed (180x200). Semi-open kitchen with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and Senseo. Bathroom with shower and toilet. Bedroom with cupboards and sofa bed (160x200). Terrace and side path to store bicycles (1 shopping bike available). Wifi, Chromecast, games and a small library.

Within walking distance are 3 restaurants at harbors, a natural swimming pool with beach, boat rental, water skiing, SUPing, sailing school. A ferry is a 1-minute walk away to the "Start Island" where sailing competitions often take place.

The property is located in the De Potten nature reserve. It borders a Natura 2000 area with rare birds and plenty of water sports, walking and cycling opportunities. Electric bicycles can be rented at the nearby campsite. The center of Sneek is 5 kilometers away. Leeuwarden is half an hour's drive away. Both can also be reached by boat.

We are Freesia and Arjen. We enjoy our holiday home on the Sneekermeer. We live in Gelderland, but we are charmed by Friesland, where we have been coming for years (Arjen was born here). For us it stands for relaxation and unwinding, beautiful views and skies, rolling waves and wind in your hair. We like to sail on the lakes and ditches of Friesland with our boat. You can also enjoy beautiful walks and cycling from our house.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

If the renter wishes to cancel the booking for any reason, the renter must always confirm this by e-mail to the landlord (even if this has already been communicated to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:

cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
Cancellation between the 90th and the 60th day before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
Cancellation between the 59th and the 30th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price

If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, he will continue to owe the full rent.

Additional information

The apartment has information about excursions. Here are some tips:
- Walk or cycle across the beautiful Grienedyk to the ferry that takes you across the Princess Margriet Canal to the village of Terherne (known from the Chameleon books). Enjoy the many birds and views over the water along the way.
- Take the ferry (1 minute walk from our house) to the Start Island and sit at restaurant 'Het Vooronder' on the terrace with a view over the Sneekermeer with sailing boats. The mighty Frisian Skutsjes regularly practice on the lake.

The center of Sneek is 5 kilometers away. Cycling through nature over the Grienedyk to this picturesque town with its canals and bridges. It is a real shipping center with pleasure harbors and a shipping museum. Here you can also see one of the 11 artwork fountains of the famous 11 Frisian cities. It's also nice to visit all 11 by car, boat or bicycle during your stay. Information about the route is in the apartment.
