You can rent bicycles/e-choppers/boats at the park. There is a miniature golf course, a tennis court, table tennis tables, a volleyball net and various playgrounds in the park. There are fun play tables and activities for the children at the reception. With the two sups that belong to our house you can go supping through the park or on the IJsselmeer. You can also rent a wetsuit so that supping, playing and swimming in the water is very nice, even if the weather is less warm (recommended). Our outdoor shower has warm water where you can warm up and rinse off. Our house has a garage which is convenient for storage of sups and surfboards. There is also enough grass to rig / store the surf sails, but also to enjoy the sun.
At the boulevard on the main beach you can rent surfboards and wetsuits and you can also book lessons. Since the water is shallow, Makkum is the ideal place to learn surfing. Here are also nice restaurants and terraces to relax and enjoy something delicious. But it is also possible to take it away to enjoy it in the holiday home.
The area is ideal for walking and cycling. The house also contains cycling maps and a folder with all kinds of information about trips, etc.
Joure has a large subtropical swimming pool with spectacular slides. The towns of Bolsward, Sneek, Harlingen are fun to visit. Franeker is also interesting with 'it Tsjukkelan' and the handball museum, but the planetarium is also definitely worth a visit. Of course Makkum itself is also a very cozy village with all kinds of shops and restaurants. Boat trips can also be booked here. There is also a large supermarket here. At the reception of the Holle Poarte campsite (near the boulevard) there is a small shop, several restaurants and entertainment.
