Our holiday home is located on a quiet sandy path in Wateren, a charming hamlet in the municipality of Westerveld, close to the border with Friesland. This special location offers a rare combination of peace, privacy and natural beauty. The house stands on a generous plot of approximately 3,100m², completely surrounded by greenery, ensuring absolute privacy and space to relax1
From the living room you look directly out over meadows where cows and horses regularly graze. Just a 5-minute walk away is the beautiful Doldersumse Heide, a vast moist heath reserve on the flank of the stream valley of the Vledder- and Wapserveensche Aa. You are here in the heart of the Drents-Friese would, with its 7500 hectares one of the largest contiguous nature reserves in the Netherlands.
