The villa is an original Tuscan farmhouse dating back hundreds of years. The villa has been built and modernized in traditional Tuscan architecture to create that special atmosphere. The villa and attractive associated cottage are situated on 56,000 m2 of private land with spectacular views and sunsets of Cortona and the Valdichiana Valley.
As you drive up the driveway to the house via an electric gate, there is a parking area on the left with ample parking for several cars. Straight ahead you go to the villa and the cottage and left you go to the tennis court and the spacious swimming pool.
Whether you want to spend lazy days by the pool or visit the many medieval villages and vineyards, Casa del Castagno is the perfect choice to meet all the requirements of a relaxing holiday.
For sports enthusiasts, in addition to the spacious swimming pool, the grounds offer a tennis court and a 5-a-side football field. The house offers 3 dining options in the garden and by the pool, which provide the perfect setting for cozy barbecues.
The House
Casa del Castagno has retained many of its unique Tuscan features such as wooden beams, stone features, beautiful old fireplace and terracotta floors. The villa is spread over 3 floors, connected by a wooden staircase and a beautiful Tuscan stone exterior staircase.
When you enter the villa, you immediately feel the Tuscan charm with traditional furniture, many attractive decorations and a beautiful living room with a spacious fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary accessories to cook that fantastic dinner and enjoy a glass of wine while sitting on the covered terrace overlooking Cortona.
On the ground floor there is the kitchen, a living room with a beautiful large fireplace, very cozy for cold winter evenings and a dining area. On the first floor there is the master bedroom with an office and en-suite bathroom, a second double bedroom with separate bathroom and a cozy sitting area with satellite TV. On the third floor there is a cozy double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and wood-burning stove. All bedrooms have air conditioning.
The villa is spacious 160 m² and can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms with bathrooms. The cottage is approximately 40 m² and suitable for another 4 people. The cottage offers a double bedroom with a king-size bed and a double sofa bed and an en suite bathroom. The house can accommodate up to 10 guests in total.
The garden
The villa and cottage are located on 56,000 m2 of private land, with many olive trees, grapevines and various fruit trees. The well-maintained, shady and sheltered garden offers a beautiful, spacious swimming pool, equipped with sun beds and parasols. The garden offers a lot of privacy. From the kitchen, there is a patio with a comfortable dining table and chairs, making cooking and dining al fresco as comfortable as possible. There are also two barbecues for grilling, one by the pool and one by the kitchen. There are two comfortable gazebos, one by the pool and one by the kitchen, with large dining tables where you can dine with up to 10 people while enjoying the beautiful sunsets with a delicious glass of Tuscan wine.
The facilities
Casa del Castagno is fully gated and gated and also has convenient on-site parking for several cars. The house also has a separate laundry room with washing machine and dryer. There is also WiFi. There is a dart board in the garage. Very unique for sporty guests is the private fenced tennis court directly on the property, equipped with lighting (at an additional cost).
