Cabin Nel Bosco is a unique place in the mountains of Piedmont, for people looking for peace and quiet, far away from the hustle and bustle. It is an oasis of nature, space and privacy. The cabin is located in the Val Mastallone, in the north of Piedmont above the village of Cravagliana. The area is ideal for beautiful walks, mushroom hunting and wildlife spotting.
The hiking trails start near the cabin. A hiking map of the area is available in the cabin.

You reach the cabin via a paved road, where you park your car. From here you walk down a forest path about 40 meters (± 2 minutes) and you will reach Cabin Nel Bosco.
Nel Bosco is suitable for 2 people and fully equipped. The cabin has recently (2023) been completely restored.
The cozy living area and raised bed, surrounded by windows, provide a great way to enjoy the views of the stars and the beautiful surroundings.
The equipped kitchen with cooking facilities and refrigerator offers the possibility of self-catering, which is great for people who enjoy self-sufficiency and want to enjoy meals amidst the natural beauty.

The modern bathroom adds a unique touch to the overall experience of the cabin. The presence of a toilet, sink with mirror and rain shower ensures comfort and convenience.

The cozy wood stove is perfect for the cooler days, where you can warm up and experience cozy moments, while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Firewood is available in abundance for you.

Solar panels are used to generate electricity, which fits in with the sustainable and environmentally conscious approach. You can enjoy modern comforts while respecting the environment.

The terrace is an ideal place to relax, barbecue and enjoy the beautiful views, in all seasons.
On the wooden terrace there is a bathtub (with hot and cold water) from which you have a fantastic view over the valley.

There is no Wi-Fi, but the internet connection on your mobile (4G network) works fine.

A 15-minute drive will take you to Varallo, a charming town with nice streets, restaurant and shops. Also here you will find all amenities supermarket, butcher ect.

Our adventure started in 2018, we bought a house in Italy and fell in love with the place. Every holiday we left for our house to do odd jobs and it became more and more difficult to go back to NL.

As we were in Italy more often, we started dreaming more and more about building a new life here. In 2020 we took the plunge and emigrated to Italy to start a new adventure. Creating holiday homes in the most beautiful places of the Valsesia.

Arrival times are between 15:00 and 19:00.
If you arrive earlier or later, this is possible, but always in consultation.
Departure time is before 10:00 AM.

The tenant is liable to pay the full amount of the rent, as stated on the booking confirmation. This also applies to the tenant's arrival or departure later than stated on the booking confirmation.
In case of cancellation more than 12 weeks before the start of your stay, 50% of the deposit will be returned.
In case of cancellation within the period of 12 weeks, no refund will be made.
We therefore recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.

This is one of the many beautiful walks you can take in this area. The tour starts at the end of the Val Mastallone at the hamlet of Santa Maria at an altitude of 1200 meters. Via a hiking trail you can reach Alpe Baranca (1566m) after 40 minutes. The alp consists of a number of huts including a rifugo. The route continues upwards where over time you will reach a wide valley with Lake Baranca. In the distance you can see the Lancia family villa.

What Varallo is best known for is the Sacro Monte. As soon as you arrive you see it above the city on the mountain, already lying in the sun. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can take a cable car up, where you have a beautiful view of the city. Via an ascending path you walk through paths and squares past chapels where the life of Jesus is told through 800 sculptures and 3000 frescoes. It's very impressive.

Varallo has a beautiful old center, with large stately buildings and small streets.
You will come across nice shops here. There are plenty of restaurants and bars.
On Tuesdays there is a nice weekly market that is always pleasantly busy.
You will find stalls with colorful fruit and vegetables, delicious toma cheeses and salamis from this region. On Piazza San Carlo is the Palazzo de Musei, a beautiful building that houses the Pinacoteca with one of the most important collections in Piedmont.

Cervatto, a beautiful picturesque village at an altitude of 1022 m. You can see the village in the distance as you approach the village of Fobello. It is located high on the mountain, and above everything towers “the castle of Montaldo”, a large villa from the end of the eighteenth century.
The village is car-free. On a charming village square stands a beautiful parish church of St. Rocco dating from the 17th century. There is also an excellent restaurant where they serve delicious pasta.
A path runs from the village to the castle, along the path there are 13 chapels in which paintings depict the story of the crucifixion of Jesus.
At the top of the castle you have a beautiful view. You can see the peaks of the Baranca and the Kaval and the lower Fobello with all its hamlets.
