Nice things to know about Pergola:
- In the summer of 1946, Pergola was world news for the discovery of the ‘Bronzi Dorati’, a gilded bronze sculpture group over 2,000 years old. These mysterious statues, weighing hundreds of kilos, can now be seen in the Pergola Museum.
- When you visit a market, look for the ‘Porchetta’ stall, where the butcher will cut nice thick slices of Porchetta. This is a delicious roulade, made from a whole pig, filled with fresh herbs.
- Tip for a city trip: it will only take you two hours to get to Rome from Fabriano train station.
