HUB 2 Milan & Bergamo

The ideal base for visiting Milan (1h), Bergamo (20min) and Monza (F1 circuit and Villa Reale; 40min). The train station is within walking distance (12min) with a direct train every hour to one of these 3 fantastic cities. In the summer there is refreshment in the Adda River just 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes by bike. Furthermore, you can be a bather on Lake Garda, Lake Como or Lago d'Iseo in less than 1 hour.
Through the gate you enter this typical northern Italian "Cortile": a courtyard surrounded by houses. Around 1800, these were small residential communities that had an agricultural existence and were almost self-sufficient. In some places of the courtyard you can still see the open haylofts.
The Bergamo area is known for highly skilled construction workers and so the Cortile of Via Medolago has been expanded, rebuilt and rebuilt over time.
There are 2 bicycles (an MTB and a ladies city bike) available, as well as a parking space at the house.

To get an idea of the possibilities in the area, I have drawn up a weekly program:

Day 1: visit the Adda River. Here you can swim and sunbathe and recover from the long journey from the Netherlands
Day 2: to Bergamo Alta; 25 minutes drive. Car parking at the Funicolare (funicular).
Day 3: cool off and relax in the transition from Lake Como to the Adda River. Here the river is very wide and you can buy a day ticket at the campsite in Lecco with use of all the facilities of the campsite: a diving board, bar and a beautiful lawn right on the lake. With many terraces and a boulevard along the lake, Lecco is also the place to shop.
Day 4: Milan can be reached by train from Terno in less than 1 hour, without a change. A mega city, a mega day!
Day 5: Lake Como (Abbadia Lariana Beach and Mandello del Lario), Lake Garda (Sirmione) and Lake Iseo (Mont' Isola) can all be reached within 1 hour.
Day 6:  Monza, with its Formula 1 circuit and the largest walled park in Europe, has a beautiful historic center and is within 30 minutes by train.   A must is a visit to the Villa Reale.
Day 7: Crespi d'Adda, 20 minutes' drive from Terno, is one of the best-preserved villages from the industrial era when the weaving mills sprang up in 1880. Nowadays it is an open-air museum that is on the World Heritage List and very worthwhile.

Come and enjoy the many possibilities that the area has to offer.

Buongiorno ! Introducing: Anette de Boer, dietician in Italy and manager of this lovely house. The house, which was completely renovated in 2023, can be reached in 20 minutes from Bergamo airport, with daily flights from Weeze and Eindhoven. I like to sit there to enjoy the silence, the sunny balcony and as a base for a trip to San Pellegrino Terme. I would like to welcome you to Terno d'Isola!
