In picturesque Oltrepò Pavese, also affectionately known as "The Tuscany of the North", an enchanting landscape unfolds. Located in the hills, 50 km below Milan and near historic Pavia, this region shines like a jewel just 1100 km from Amsterdam. The accessibility is sublime, both by car and by plane. But Oltrepò Pavese is more than just a wine region; it is a gateway to unprecedented beauty in the heart of northern Italy.
Old towns, ski resorts and the flower-filled Mediterranean Riviera are within easy reach, just an hour's drive away via the majestic autostrada. After two successful years of sharing exquisite wines with the Netherlands, we decided to take a second step: creating a home in this idyllic landscape. By chance, we came across "our house Italy", a hidden treasure with breathtaking views of the Alps, surrounded by the allure of an authentic Italian village with the charming castle of "Mornico Losana."
A short seven-minute drive will take you to sprawling shops and restaurants, the prices of which require a sincere effort to be considered expensive. In the middle of extensive vineyards, our villa, called "Monte Rosa," offers an oasis of peace and comfort. With four opulent bedrooms, two bathrooms – one with a tempting bathtub – fitted with mosquito nets and invigorating air conditioning, this villa is steeped in luxury.
The spacious kitchen invites you to culinary adventures, while the cozy living room with a crackling fireplace offers a warm welcome. Downstairs, in the generous cantina with a TV and comfortable lounge sofa, cozy moments are created. Outside, several terraces stretch out, some bathed in sunlight, others hidden in shade, and a large barbecue. The generous swimming pool of 5 by 10 meters, with a maximum depth of 1.40 meters, adds a touch of opulence, surrounded by comfortable sunbeds and tasteful terrace furniture.
As icing on the cake, we offer free wine throughout your stay, in shades of white, rosé and red, provided by Matteo Piccinini, not only our house supplier but also your gracious host.
