Welcome to Arnasco – authentic Liguria 🇮🇹

Wake up to a view over the green hills of Liguria, enjoy an espresso in the Italian sun in the morning and end the day with a long evening on the large roof terrace — all mentioned by our guests as the absolute highlight of their stay.

Our spacious family home is located in the middle of Arnasco, an authentic Italian village hidden between the olive groves of the Ligurian hills. Here you can experience the peace and atmosphere of real Italian village life, while the beaches and pleasant boulevards of Albenga and Alassio are only a 15–20 minute drive away.

The house can accommodate 2 to 8 people and is ideal for families, couples and groups of friends due to its space, several terraces and three bathrooms.

☀️ A large panoramic roof terrace

The absolute highlight of the house is the spacious roof terrace with beautiful views over the valley and the surrounding Ligurian hills.

Start the day here with breakfast in the morning sun, find a spot in the sun or shade in the afternoon and light the BBQ at the end of the day. With a glass of wine and good company, this is perhaps the nicest place in the house.

Part of the terrace is covered, so there is plenty of shade even during hot summer days. In addition, you will find an outdoor kitchen with BBQ, various seating areas and a table tennis table.

One floor up is the mansarda (belvedere). From here you have a wide view of the valley and you can even see the snow on the peaks of the Alps in the distance.

🏡 A spacious family home for up to 8 people

The house is spread over three floors and offers plenty of space to celebrate holidays together, but also to retreat from time to time.

The house features, among other things:

- 3 bedrooms

- 3 bathrooms

- 2 kitchens

- a spacious living room

- a large roof terrace

- an outdoor kitchen with BBQ

- a private walled patio

- a loggia

- table tennis table

- Smart TV with satellite connection

- Xbox One and Wii

- wifi throughout the house

- air conditioning in the living room and two bedrooms

The air conditioning can also heat, making the house comfortable not only in the summer, but also during cooler periods.

Due to the different floors and living spaces, the house is particularly suitable for families and larger groups. You can eat and relax together, while at the same time there is enough space and privacy.

Please note: due to the stairs in the house, it is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties.

👨 👦 👧 👩 Also nice with children and teenagers

Even if you stay at home for a day, there is plenty to do. Play a game of table tennis on the terrace or use the Xbox One, Wii and our collection of DVDs, including several children's films.

And of course, the beaches of the Ligurian coast are close by for a wonderful day by the sea.

🌿 Experience real Italian village life

Arnasco is a small, authentic Ligurian village where life is a lot quieter than on the busy coast. The area has been known for centuries for its olive cultivation and around the village there are olive groves against the green hills.

Close to the house is the village square with the local olive oil cooperative Coop. Olivicola di Arnasco, with a museum and shop where you can discover local olive oil, among other things.

In summer, the village gets extra atmosphere every Thursday evening during the local pizza festival, where fresh Italian pizzas are baked.

For an evening of extensive Italian food, you can go to Ristorante Da Bianca. A small supermarket, pharmacy, post office and hairdresser are also within walking distance.

Here you don't stay in the middle of big hotels and mass tourism, but among the locals in a real Italian village.

🌊 Within 15–20 minutes on the Italian coast

One of the great advantages of Arnasco is the combination of tranquility, mountains and sea.

Get in the car and in about 15–20 minutes you will reach Albenga and Alassio. Here you will find beaches, restaurants, shops, cozy streets and boulevards along the Mediterranean Sea.

So you can have a quiet breakfast in the morning between the hills, go to the beach during the day and return to Arnasco at the end of the day to eat together and enjoy the tranquility on the roof terrace.

🚶 Plenty to discover in the area

There is also a lot to do in the area outside the beach.

Hikers and cyclists can discover the hilly surroundings from Arnasco. Along the coast you will find the historic Roman Via Julia Augusta.

Other great trips include the Grotte di Toirano, the water park Le Caravelle near Ceriale and the Durin Wine Experience for lovers of local wine.

In addition, there are opportunities for golf, tennis and padel in the area.

Or simply hop in the car and discover the small villages, markets, restaurants and beaches that make Liguria so special.

🌸 Not only in the summer

Although long summer days by the sea and evenings on the roof terrace are of course wonderful, Liguria is definitely not a destination that you can only visit in July and August.

Especially in spring and autumn, the surroundings are beautiful. It is quieter than in the high season and the milder temperatures are ideal for walking, cycling, visiting villages and towns or discovering the coast.

In the spring, the area becomes greener and more colorful. In autumn, peace returns to the coastal towns and you can enjoy the Ligurian landscape and the many olive groves in a completely different way.

🍂 And even in winter...

The house can also be a wonderful base for a stay in winter.

During the day you can discover the area, coastal towns and Italian villages and in the evening you can make it cozy inside. The air conditioning in the living room and two bedrooms can also heat, making these spaces comfortable during cooler days.

Winter is also a great time for those who mainly come for rest, walking, cycling, culture and authentic Italian life.

Without the summer crowds, you will discover a completely different side of Liguria.

This makes our house also interesting for a longer stay outside the high season, for example for couples, hikers, cyclists or people who simply want to enjoy the peace and quiet and Italian atmosphere for a while.

✈️ Easily accessible

Arnasco is also easily accessible from the Netherlands.

From Nice airport it is more than an hour's drive to the house and from Genoa about 45 minutes.

By car, you can also easily visit various places on the Italian and French Riviera along the way.

❤️ For whom is our house ideal?

Our house is a nice place for families, couples and groups of friends who want to experience Italy in an authentic way.

For people who do not want to stay in the middle of mass tourism, but would like to have the sea, cozy coastal towns and other sights within easy reach.

In summer, that means long days by the sea and cosy evenings on the roof terrace. In spring and autumn you can enjoy walking, cycling and discovering the area. And in winter you can enjoy the peace and quiet and daily Italian life.

A place to be together, to relax and to discover Liguria in every season.

Arnasco is easily accessible from abroad as it is just over an hour's drive from Nice Airport and approximately 45 minutes from Genoa, a city with both an airport and a port. Arnasco is close to two lively seaside towns, Albenga (8 miles) and Alassio (10 miles), both about a 15 to 20 minute drive. A little further are Monaco (100 km), Florence (320) and Milan (215 km). Every Thursday, the charming square by the olive oil shop comes alive with the now traditional pizza in Piazza, where Santino Viaggio, a top pizza chef, offers a range of really delicious and original pizzas. In addition to the traditional margherita and marinara, Santino actually offers the zucchini pizza with gorgonzola and trombetta and the Arnasco pizza, basically a kind of crispy focaccia stuffed (going out) with tomatoes, Taggiasca olives in brine, basil and brigasca toma, all washed down naturally with an excellent extra virgin olive oil from the cooperative. A real and surprising delight that tastes like Liguria. If you feel there the sympathy of the two Patricia, souls (along with Renata) of the cooperative, the good Ligurian wine, the coolness of the Arroscia Valley, that's it, you know where to spend next Thursday evening ... way, reservation is required, always on 0182 76 11 78 or sign up at the olive oil shop!

An old Roman connecting road runs between Albenga and Alassio. This Roman road is unknown to many tourists and is missing from most brochures. Still, it is worth walking this way. A section of this road, Via Julia Augusta, is one of the oldest roads in Italy. It was first used by Emperor Augusto around the year 12 BC. Between Albenga and Alassio there are many ancient monuments from Roman times along the Via Julia Augusto. Whole pieces of this are still in their original condition. Take a rest while walking to enjoy the beautiful views.

Grotte di Toirano (Caves, Ethnographic Museum and Borgo di Toirano) Visit the Grotte Della Básura (Cave of the Witches) undoubtedly one of the most impressive caves. For millennia it was home to bears in hibernation. Evidence of their existence can be found in the form of bones, fossils, marks and scratches that can still be seen today. Most interesting is the evidence that cave dwellers lived there. Or the Grotte di Santa Lucia Inferiore This cave can be reached by a 120 meter long corridor from the end of Grotte della Básura. Beautiful images of flowers, made from the mineral aragonite, cover the walls. In some large ones you can find huge stalactites also covered in aragonite (a calcium carbonate with an orthorhombic structure). In addition, there is an Ethnographic Museum and the medieval village of Toirano.
