Casa Calénc is a well-maintained and clean holiday home and swimming pool, located in the green heart of Romagna. Hidden in the hilly landscape of the Apennines at an altitude of about 500 meters, with the sea only a 30-minute drive away.
The apartment has its own entrance and luxurious furnishings. The front doors open into the hamlet of Cossure. An old borgo where the houses are now used as "casa in campagna", as a holiday home. By Italians and of course by us and our guests. One apartment is for two or three people and the other for four people. A garden with swimming pool, a large lawn, several terraces with and without shade. And a breathtaking view of the rugged nature of calanchi (erosion channels) in the foothills of the Apennines.
For years, Casa Calénc has been in the top three of the best apartments in Italy on Zoover. We now also have a charging station.
The apartment has been sustainably restored. We have solar panels, hot water panels and underground storage tanks for rainwater. Since 2017, we have had a Tesla battery for the storage of our own solar energy and we are 100% self-sufficient.
We, Han and Liesbeth have been the owners since 2000. In 2009 we started renting out. A passionate home cook and vinologist under an Italian roof. As said our guests come for peace and nature. But of course also for good food and drinks. We are proud to introduce you to the real yet unknown Italy. La dolce vita with its intimate music performances, markets and festivals in village squares. Ravenna, Rimini, Cesena and Bologna invite you to a pleasant visit.
Nature and surroundings.
The Alto Rubicone area is committed to slow and sustainable tourism. Apartments and garden overlook the Natura 2000 site Montetiffi Alto Uso. The area is criss-crossed by 150 kilometres of hiking trails; the Sentieri dell'Alto Rubicone. Go hiking or cycling and enjoy the many birds, orchids, edible wild plants. A deer on the slope in the early morning. A badger or a porcupine in the darkness. Look in amazement at the fireflies in the garden at the end of May. Lie down on the grass on a balmy August evening and wait for the shooting stars against the backdrop of the Milky Way and make a wish. And very occasionally you hear wolves howling.

We are Han and Liesbeth, your landlords/owners of Casa Calénc. We have been in love with our Romagna, the hidden part of Emilia Romagna, for many years.
An oasis of peace and rurality, while the culturally rich and popular Adriatic coast is a 30-minute drive away.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Our rental prices include:
Bed, bath and kitchen linen (changed regularly)
Use of the swimming pool and energy costs
If there is an option (in yellow), please call for consultation. Experience tells us that 40% of the options do not go through !! Also check casacalenc for current availability.

General

Deposit rental amount 30% within 2 weeks after receipt of the advance invoice. In case of late receipt, the booking will be cancelled
The remaining rent amount must be paid by bank no later than 6 weeks before arrival date
Cancellation up to 6 weeks before arrival is free of charge. The deposit of 30% will be refunded
In case of cancellation within 6 weeks, you must invoke your travel insurance or you can rebook to another period
If a booking confirmation is made within 5 working days before the day of arrival, the remaining rental amount can be paid in cash
Rental amount does not include costs for the mandatory final cleaning
Final settlement of additional costs to be paid in cash before departure
Arrival time in the afternoon from 16:00
Departure time in the morning before 10:00 AM
Holiday home Casa Calénc is non-smoking
Duvet and pillows are synthetic; bed linen is made of cotton
Bring your own towels for the pool or sea
Casa Calénc is less suitable for people who have difficulty walking
Use of terraces and swimming pool by young children under adult supervision
Interim cleaning is possible on request

Pets

A dog is only allowed in consultation.
We assume that the dog is housebroken and under command
Outdoors, the dog is kept on a leash
We charge € 5 for the dog per day

We hebben sinds 2021 een laadpaal.
Afgelopen zomer stonden er twee elektrische auto's op ons erf. Onze Skoda Enyaq en een VW ID4 van een gast. Het laden van beide 80 kWh accu's bleek in de praktijk geen probleem.

Romagna is known for the delicious food and drinks. It is not for nothing that some restaurants have the subtitle "tra mare e monte". Between the mountains and the sea. There is a wide range of all the goodness of the Po plain such as fresh pasta, Parmesan cheese, ham and salami in all shapes and sizes. Fresh greetings and delicious organic meat. And of course all possible fresh fish from the Adriatic Sea. Emilia Romagna is also called the culinary heart of Italy.
