In 2006, National Geographic Traveler declared Ireland's Dingle Peninsula one of the most beautiful places in the world. That was no surprise to us…
The house is located near the town of Ballyferriter on the western tip of the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry. Describing the landscape is impossible. Rather, look at the countless photos that can be found on many sites. It is not without reason that this (most beautiful) part of Ireland played one of the leading roles in the Star Wars film The Last Jedi.
The peninsula is also a place where many (pre-)historical buildings have been preserved. From Iron Age forts to one of the oldest Christian churches in the world.
From the house you have a view of Mount Brandon (952 meters) and Smerwick Harbour, a beautiful bay with a beautiful long beach where you can swim safely. There is a large garden around the house, where children can have fun with, among other things, a playhouse and a trampoline.
There are three bedrooms, all with private bathroom (2x shower, 1x bath) and toilet. The kitchen was completely renovated in 2016 and fully equipped. There is also a fireplace and unlimited WiFi! In case it rains (yes, that can really happen...) there are plenty of books and DVDs for the DVD player.
Environment
There is plenty to do in the immediate vicinity of the house (a few kilometers). Enjoy the many beautiful beaches and hidden coves. Walk along the rugged coastline. Climb Mount Brandon. Visit the pleasantly busy Dingle with its harbor and many pubs and shops.
What is also popular is horse riding (near Ventry), golf (beautiful course 1 km from the house), water sports and fishing. A highlight is a boat trip to the Blasket Islands.
A day trip to Killarney or the Ring of Kerry is also recommended.
The house contains folders with all kinds of brochures about the various attractions and detailed walking maps.
