Located 20 km from seaside resorts on Lake Balaton, 30 minutes drive from the well-known thermal springs of Heviz, two hours from Budapest on the newly built M7 motorway (exit only 5 km from Szökedencs).
Furthermore, the Adriatic Sea in Croatia is accessible via the same highway (about three hours drive), and Slovenia with its beautiful mountain scenery is easily accessible, only one hour away by car.
Just a twenty minute drive on the M7 brings you to the bustling city of Nagykanisza, with department stores such as a 24/7 Tesco and many other shops, etc.
Thirty minutes in the other direction will bring you to the picturesque town of Keszthely, situated on Lake Balaton, with many restaurants and nightlife options.
The town is best known for the beautiful Castle (once belonging to a ducal family), which is now open to the public as a museum.
The village itself has a very traditional lifestyle; you will be greeted frequently by the villagers, and you can enjoy a beer in the local pub.
The area around Szökedencs is very extensive, with an abundance of flora and fauna everywhere.
Eagles, deer, foxes, buffalo and especially storks can call this area their home.
