It's a 4-minute drive to the butcher and baker, and 6 minutes to the grocery store or bank.
The small village of Böhne is idyllically surrounded by forest and hills. To the south, the valley opens up with a magnificent view.
The beautiful children's playground is only a 3-minute walk away. Small walks as well as long hikes or bike tours are possible from here in many directions. The Habichtswaldsteig leads directly along the village; the nearby beech national park Kellerwald offers many beautiful and rustic hiking experiences. The animal park at the Edersee with the flight show of the birds of prey is a magnet for visitors.
It is 12 km to the Edersee or Waldeck Castle, the well-known spa town of Bad Wildungen with its various mineral springs is only 15 km away. It is also 15 km to the cathedral city of Fritzlar with its beautiful half-timbered old town. Other destinations could be the Hanseatic town of Korbach, the baroque town of Bad Arolsen with the beautiful castle of the Waldecker princes, or Lake Twiste or Lake Diemel. It is a good 35 minutes to Kassel with the Hercules, which is well worth seeing.
