Environment
The area also has a lot to offer and has many beautiful places with sights nearby. For example, in Buren there is a Jesuit church with beautiful wall and ceiling paintings from the Italian school. The church with its special Baroque facade dates from the half of the 18th century (1750). The Maria Vermahlung on the ceiling is of perspectival perfection! And Paderborn is a city with a large cathedral and a beautiful town hall, beautiful half-timbered houses and a large car-free shopping area. Nice to visit! Arolsen - which is affectionately called the “Versailles of Hesse” - with its well-preserved Baroque architecture and numerous avenues, has one of the most beautiful cityscapes in Germany. The Residenzschloss, where our Queen Emma grew up, is a good example of this. This beautiful castle can be visited and is located 40 km from Husen. And these are just a few of the many beautiful cities and villages with many attractions!
Winter sports
Winter sports and lots of fun in the snow are also possible: in the winter in the Willingen ski area, about a 50-minute drive away and another 30 kilometers further south, there are the higher slopes around one of Germany's most famous ski areas in Winterberg. Also fun in the summer is the cable car to the 875m high Hochheideturm, this is the highest viewpoint in North-West Germany and of course tobogganing in Willingen!
Aquatics
And for water lovers there is also plenty to do: there are the Diemelsee, Mohnesee, Hennesee, Twistesee Diemelsee, a reservoir, just like the Mohnesee for surfing, sailing and fishing... and not to forget the Hennesee near Meschede as well as the Twistesee near Arolsen All these lakes are easy to drive to for a day out… between 40 and 70 km. Water in the form of thermal baths can be found around Husen, for example in Bad Driburg. The Westfalen Therme is also located in Bad Lippspringe. Bad Wunnenburg has a very nice indoor swimming pool... Lippesee near Paderborn with water skiing, sailing, surfing, paddling and a beach for sunbathing... a real leisure paradise. Then there is the Emmerstausee, also for a sunny day out. There is plenty to do in and around the water, an ultimate outing, especially for children, also because of the Funtastico family park! Close by, 2 km away, in Atteln there is a new heated open-air natural pool (no chlorine!) with a separate deep, shallow and children's pool. With playing field. In short, this nice accommodation offers you everything; peace, nature, culture, snow, water and fun for children!
