Feriendorf Frankenau is a quiet holiday park in a beautiful location. In the immediate vicinity of the park there is a tennis hall, a fishing pond and a riding stable, where you can also discuss a covered wagon ride through the Kellerwald. There are also excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity (walking distance) and a bicycle rental company in the neighboring village of Altenlotheim. Several swimming pools can be found in the immediate vicinity of the holiday home, such as Heloponte in Bad-Wildungen and the subtropical swimming paradise of CenterPars in Medebach. Besides the fact that you can swim in the Edersee when the weather is nice, there are also several outdoor swimming pools in the area (eg in Löhlbach 5 km). Frankenau is about three hundred kilometers from the Netherlands. The park is within walking distance of the center of Frankenau (with a number of restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery) on a small lake and surrounded by extensive forests. The picturesque surroundings with half-timbered houses, mountains and rivers are ideal for walking. There is a choice of countless hiking trails of all levels of difficulty, some of which start directly behind the holiday home. In the vicinity of the house is an information center of the National Park Kellerwald-Edersee. The Edersee (the largest reservoir in Germany) and the well-known (winter sports) places such as Winterberg and Willingen are also in the immediate vicinity. The beautiful (old) cities such as Korbach, Bad Arolsen, Bad Wildungen, Fritzlar, Frankenberg and Kassel are definitely worth a visit. In short, a wonderful environment in all seasons, both to relax and to be active. Activities: You can go hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking, cycling, horseback riding, fishing, sailing, cross-country skiing, skiing, (summer) tobogganing, visit cities or amusement parks. In short, too many to mention. The house and the surrounding area are also ideal for excursions. In the house is a folder containing numerous brochures about activities and facilities in the area. Bread service You can easily order fresh bread rolls at the local bakery Caspar in the village of Frankenau, the next day your order will be delivered (free of charge) to your house. The order form is at the bakery and in your home. The bakery is also open for a few hours on Sunday mornings.
