Holiday home De Kohlberg is located in a nature reserve east of the historic city of Bad Berleburg.
The holiday home is idyllically located in the middle of nature with a varied landscape with forests and meadows. The area is characterized by the peaks of the Grosse Helle (676 m) and Grosse Bubenbracht (640 m) mountains. The area is an excellent starting point for long walks in the Roodhaar Mountains nature reserve.
There is plenty to do in the vicinity of the holiday home. A visit to the historic town of Bad Berleburg with its castle is worthwhile. The Panorama Park in Kirchhundem is also recommended for young and old. In addition, the Wisent Welt Wittgenstein is also worth a visit (the wisent still in its natural environment). In the town of Lützel you will also find Burg Ginsburg, which has an interesting Dutch history. The tourist winter sports resort of Winterberg is approximately 30 minutes by car.
Furthermore, there are numerous opportunities for mountain biking, swimming and of course hiking in the vast nature.
The holiday home is reached via a paved road (not a main road) that ends at some nearby farms.
The holiday home is completely secluded on a plateau of the Grosse Helle at an altitude of approximately 610 metres. The holiday home is located in the middle of the protected nature reserves Oberes Steinbachtal and Elbrighäuserbach.
The holiday home was traditionally used as a small-scale farm.
The house has a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and forests.
On the west and north sides, the house borders the edge of an extensive forest and nature reserve. On the east and south sides you look out over adjacent meadow plots and the forest and nature reserve behind.
A narrow access road runs in front of the house and serves as an access road to some nearby farms (no main road).
Several hiking trails start from the house. The holiday home offers a lot of privacy due to its idyllic location without neighbors (nearest houses approximately 600 meters away). The house is ideally suited for nature lovers. Foxes, deer, raccoons and other wildlife right in the garden.
Here it is still really dark in the evening, so you can enjoy a beautiful starry sky on a clear night.
The holiday home has a living area of approximately 100 m2 and is suitable for 4 people. You enter the hall through the entrance. To the right of the hall is a spacious bedroom. This is equipped with a 2-pers. box spring bed (1.8 x 2 m).
At the end of the hall there is a cozy living room with open kitchen.
The living room has a comfortable seating area, a TV and a cozy wood-burning stove.
From the living room (with many windows) you have a very beautiful view of the adjacent nature reserves.
The kitchen is spacious, complete and fully equipped (hob, oven, refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher). There is a dining table in the kitchen.
On the top floor there is a bedroom which is equipped with a double box-sping bed.
There is a washing machine in the basement.

Next to and at the rear of the house there are two seating areas (sun and shade) from which you have a beautiful view of the nature behind. Here you can enjoy yourself until the early hours in the summer.
There are comfortable sitting and sun loungers available.
There are many fruit trees around the house (cherries from mid-June, apples and plums from August). Anyone who goes on holiday during this period can pick fruit themselves.

The house is partly heated with automatic wood pellet stoves and a wood stove. Wood and wood pellets are available.

Small pets (max. 2) are welcome upon consultation.

We have been coming to this beautiful place for beautiful walks for years. Every time we daydreamed of becoming the owner of this unique place in the middle of nature. By coincidence, this happened in the summer of 2022.
The house with a unique free and quiet location in the middle of nature has been completely renovated so that it is ready for its new use as a holiday paradise.
