Holiday home De Kohlberg is located in a nature reserve east of the historic town of Bad Berleburg.
The holiday home is idyllically located in the middle of nature with a varied landscape with forest and meadows. The area is characterized by the peaks of the mountains Grosse Helle (676 m) and Grosse Bubenbracht (640 m). The area is an excellent starting point for long walks in the Red Hair Mountains nature reserve.
There is plenty to do in the vicinity of the holiday home. A visit to the historic town of Bad Berleburg with its castle is worthwhile. The Panoramapark in Kirchhundem is also recommended for young and old. In addition, the Wisent Welt Wittgenstein (the bison still in its natural environment) is also worth a visit. In the town of Lützel you will also find the Burg Ginsburg, which has an interesting Dutch history. The tourist winter sports resort of Winterberg is about 30 minutes away by car.
Furthermore, there are plenty of opportunities in the vast nature in the field of mountain biking, swimming and of course hiking.
The holiday home is reached via a paved road (not a main road) that ends at some nearby farms.
The holiday home is completely secluded on a plateau of the Grosse Helle at an altitude of about 610 meters. The holiday home is located in the middle of the protected nature reserves Oberes Steinbachtal and Elbrighäuserbach.
The holiday home was traditionally used as a small-scale farm.
The house has a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and forests behind.
On the west and north side, the house borders on the edge of a vast forest and nature reserve. On the east and south sides you look out over adjacent meadows and forest and nature reserve behind it.
In front of the house there is a narrow access road and serves as an access road for some nearby farms (no main road).
Several hiking trails run from the house. The holiday home offers a lot of privacy due to the idyllic location alone without neighbours (nearest houses approx. 600 metres). The house is ideally suited for nature lovers. Foxes, deer, raccoons and other wildlife directly in the garden.
Here it is still really dark in the evening so that you can enjoy a beautiful starry sky on a clear night.
The holiday home has a living area of approximately 100 m2 and is suitable for 6 people (8 people in consultation). Through the entrance you enter the hall. To the right of the hall is a spacious bedroom. This is equipped with a 2-pers. Box spring bed (1.8 x 2 m).
At the end of the hall is a cozy living room with open kitchen.
The living room features a comfortable seating area, a TV and a cosy wood-burning stove.
From the living room (with many windows) you have a very nice view over the adjacent nature reserves.
The kitchen is spacious, complete and equipped with all conveniences (hob, oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher). There is a dining table in the kitchen.
There are three bedrooms on the upper floor. One of these is equipped with a 2 person box spring bed. The other two sleeping camps are equipped with two single beds, On the upper floor there is also a bathroom with toilet and sink.
There is a washing machine in the basement.

Next to and at the rear of the house there are two seating areas (sun and shade) from where you have a magnificent view of the nature behind. Here you can enjoy until the late hours in the summer.
There are comfortable seating and sun loungers available.
Around the house there are many fruit trees (cherries from mid-June, apples and plums from August). Those who are on holiday during this period can pick their own fruit.

The house is partly heated with automatic wood pellet stoves and a wood stove. Wood and wood pellets are available.

We have been coming to this beautiful place for beautiful walks for years. Every time we daydreamed of becoming the owner of this unique place in the middle of nature. By coincidence, this happened in the summer of 2022.
The house with a unique free and quiet location in the middle of nature has been completely renovated so that it is ready for its new use as a holiday paradise.
