Ferienhof BrinkOrt 1

9.1

Just imagine:
After a spell of hard work, you deserve to get away somewhere, together with your partner, boy- or girl-friend, children, parents- for a week perhaps, or just a weekend or a few days mid-week. Something different, something you’ve not done before. You’re looking for peace-and-quiet, but also for comfort. And then you come across Ferienhof Brinkort- a cosy holiday farm in a small country village, with luxuriously furnished safari tents. You decide to book one for your stay.
After a lovely drive, which becomes less and less busy, you reach Ferienort Brinkort. You park your car in the designated area and are welcomed by the friendly owners. You’ve arrived in a quiet area surrounded by old oaks, where the hares chasearound and the pheasants continue their hunt for food. The fields stretch into the distance- and might you catch a glimpse of the deer? The peace, the surroundings, the birdsong revitalise you. After you’ve made a cup of tea or coffee in the tent, and enjoyed this in the sun on the deck, you leaf through the information folder to decide what you’re going to do in the days ahead. A nature walk, a trip to the zoo, a train ride, some cycling- or perhaps a trip to the swimming pool? You’re surprised at just how much there is to do here. You walk to Ferien Brinkort’s forecourt to order your breakfast for the following morning. And then time to relax on the deck with a book or the internet.
In the evening, you walk to the village to get something to eat together, or you take the car- or bicycle- to one or another of the excellent restaurants in the area. It’s cooled down a bit by the time you get back, but it’s cosily warm by the stove in the tent sitting-room.And finally you dive into your comfortable bed with thelovely warm duvet. Perhaps you read for a bit by the light of the bedside lamp. And then it’s lights out. You hear the owl hooting, and you fall fast asleep.

The following morning, nature awakes. The birds begin their dawn chorus, but you don’t hear them because you’re still dreaming those dreams. But gradually the birds are part of the dream, and you wake slowly. Is that someone on the deck? Yes, it’s your breakfast being delivered. The sun’s shining, so you decide to set the table for breakfast outside on the deck.
You’ve chosen something nice to do today. You get your things together and set off. When you return in the afternoon, you walk into the village to buy food for the evening meal- you’ve decided to cook in the tent. But before that, perhaps a German beer or a glass of wine on the deck, along with a piece of German cake? What could be nicer….And then you realise- you’ve only been here a day!

If this appeals to you, it’s time that you booked your stay at Ferienhof Brinkort.

Monique- your host
We are Monique and Ronald. A friendly couple from The Netherlands who have made their dream real- creating the perfect holiday spot. We found a lovely farm in a beautiful part of Germany, and want others to be able to enjoy it too. We’ve now got three luxurious safari tents. This was a very big step for us, but an exciting one. We’re enjoying our work enormously, particularly the contact with customers and with the outdoors.

Location & tips

Additional information

Experience the Great Moor, one of the large protective bird areas where thousands of cranes find a resting place in spring and autumn.
This nature reserve can be visited on foot or by bike, but a ride on the Uchter Moorbahn is a real experience, with 9.5 km of length the longest of its kind in Lower Saxony.
The duration of the ride (with stops) is at a speed of 6 km (picking flowers during driving prohibited :-) about 2 hours.
The art of glassmaking is at home beside the River Weser. Here there used to be a large number of glassblowing works producing their goods for the world market. The fires have long since been quenched in most of the factories.
Every day in the Gernheim glass tower (built in 1826), visitors can experience our glassmakers at work blowing and shaping the molten glass. And right next door they can see the finished products being polished and engraved before their very eyes. Many parts of the early industrial factory village have also been preserved. These include the oldest workers’ houses in Westphalia, the factory owner’s house and the basket-making house. The whole site will give you the opportunity of taking a stroll through 700 years of glassmaking history.
In the Dinopark Münchehagen you and your whole family will hike through long past dinosaur times and experience the fascination of our dinosaurs up close!

With over 230 life-size reconstructions of dinosaurs and other primeval animals, you will learn everything about the fascinating development of life in the Earth's history. All prehistoric animal reconstructions of the Dinopark are reconstructed in cooperation with various scientists on the basis of the latest research results.

You will visit a real dinosaur site! The centre of our dinosaur park is the National Geotope "Dinosaur Trails" with over 300 petrified dinosaur tracks, which are still actively researched today.
The outdoor pool Uchte offers besides the 50m swimming pool with 5 lanes, a diving tower with 1, 3 and 5 lanes, also a non-swimmer pool with 2 water slides, water mushroom, massage jets of course also a baby pool.
The WOLFCENTER offers spectacular wolf feeding, exciting guided tours, large exhibitions and many other attractions!

The WOLFCENTER Dörverden acts as an independent Wolf knowledge centre with a mixture of zoo, modern museum and restaurant. It therefore combines leisure, adventure and educational elements.
The team of employees shows the many visitors to the WOLFCENTER the opportunities, risks and challenges that wild wolves bring with them today.
Discover the Mittelweser region by bike: with a network of more than 3,000 km of cycle paths, it offers a variety of signposted circular tours ranging from 13 to 110 kilometres. The beauty is that here, in the North German lowlands, there are no mountains, so even the youngest members of the family can keep up. Theme routes under the motto "Bike & Learn" such as the Kult(o)r, the around the great Moor Route, the Stork Route, the Nat(p)ur Tour promise variety on the bike tour, as the themes are explained on the basis of information boards, objects and sights along the route.
The wide open spaces of the North German landscape form the impressive background for the over 300,000 square metre park with its natural open spaces and extensive waters.
Today more than 600 animals and birds from 5 continents live in the zoo, which consists of two parts, in natural open spaces and waters.
In the first part they find exotic animals and birds. Part 2, the forest part, is home to native European animal species.
The visit of the Arabian Stud is included in the entrance fee as well as the visit of our "Animal School".
