Holiday homes in the Hunsrück

Just across the border with the Netherlands, you’ll find one of the most beautiful parts of Germany: the Hunsrück. This isn’t the place to go if you want to hit the town, but if you’re in search of nature and homes set in natural surroundings, you won’t be disappointed. There are many enjoyable walking and cycling trails criss-crossing the rolling hills of the Hunsrück. Is horse riding one of your hobbies? Look no further. Enjoy the silence and discover the beauty of this exceptional landscape. It’s bordered by four rivers, including the Rhine and the Moselle. Authentic villages and towns with timbered houses are everywhere you look. Book your holiday home in the Hunsrück now. You won’t have to pay over the odds as with Micazu, you always book directly with the owner.

Enjoy your holiday home set in the nature of the Hunsrück

A boat ride on the Moselle, walking or cycling to your heart’s content, stopping for a coffee or a delicious lunch in one of the cosy village cafés - book your holiday home in the Hunsrück to completely unwind. If you set off early enough, you may well spot deer, foxes and wild boar. There are plenty of other sights in the area. You can visit the Schiefergrubu Herrenberg slate mine to learn how this material was mined through the ages, and you’ll also see fossils of marine animals that became trapped in the slate. Or take a dive into history and wander around one of the region’s splendid burghs and castles. Another tip is the small town of Kirchberg, with its go-carting and climbing facilities.

Book quickly and discover the beauty of Germany. Browse our range of private holiday homes in the Hunsrück now.

Fun facts about the Hunsrück

  • Hunsrück is often loosely translated as ‘Dog’s Back’. However, experts disagree as to whether this is correct. The inhabitants of the region sometimes refer to it as the Hundsbuckel (buckel means ‘lump’).
  • A notorious character from the Hunsrück was Schinderhannes, the leader of a band of robbers. His real name was Johannes Bückler and, around two hundred years ago, he was a threat to travellers on the road.
  • A special type of wellness: the bare-foot path of Bad Soberheim. Walk along the path and get a foot reflexology massage.
