Here are some highlights that you shouldn't miss during this beautiful time of year.

Discover the world of mushrooms

Did you know that 389 species of mushrooms have been detected in the area of the city of Bad Wildungen and Bad Zwesten so far? The actual number of species is likely to be even much higher. In particular, the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park and the near-natural forest nature reserves Sondertal-Talgraben and Bilstein are an Eldorado for mushroom lovers. Here you can discover a variety of mushroom species that have settled on deadwood on a guided mushroom hike. Who knows, maybe the forest has one or two surprises in store for you.
Guided hikes among ancient beech trees

A must in autumn are the guided hikes through the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, Unesco World Heritage Site. Between ancient beech trees, you can enjoy the fresh autumn air and experience the golden splendor of the Indian Summer. Nature shows its most beautiful side, and with a bit of luck you will hear the roaring of the deer in the distance. Here you can find more information about these impressive hikes: Hike through the Kellerwald.
