Molkerei

8.7

The holiday home has an area of ??140 m2. There is a garden in front of the house and it has its own terrace and garage in the house.

The holiday home is on the ground floor and therefore also suitable for the disabled.

The living room windows are equipped with shutters and curtains.
The bedroom windows are equipped with curtains.

All bedrooms are spacious. Each room has a wardrobe.
The house is cool in the summer and pleasantly warm in the winter.
The house radiates warmth, cosiness and intimacy. Pure enjoyment.

Around the house there is a lot of space and greenery.

The whole house has central heating which is generated from solar energy.

The water is heated from the sun. Since the Molkerei has no gas connection, we were dependent on fuel oil, which is bad for the environment. We have now opted for more sustainable energy.

The peace and quiet and space and the culture have touched us! The Molkerei is situated in a unique location in the former border village of Klettenberg. At the beginning of a field road the cottage is situated, and guarantees an undisturbed rest, also for your children. In 2008 we started with the restoration of the ex-milk factory that had been vacant for years and the associated buildings with as many authentic details as possible. The luxury holiday home is suitable for up to 5 people.

Additional information

After many years of "why we are not going to Germany to live in a beautiful area with distant views and natural beauty" in 2008 we took the plunge and went looking for our dream place. Soon we arrived at this complex. We were in love from the beginning of the surroundings and the opportunities this gave us complex. This former dairy was on sale for 7 years and despite many viewings proved unsaleable, mainly because of the sheer size of buildings and lack of maintenance. In short, we found this a challenging project for our dream to become reality. After a negotiation period of an hour we were the owner of the Niemann. The Niemann was built in 1903 as butter, cheese and dairy. After the Second World War Klettenberg in East Germany was abandoned and the Niemann nationalized. The plant has until 1970 been used as a dairy, but after a large dairy factory in Nordhausen was built, had a different destination sought for this complex. From 1971 until the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 is used as the Niemann Mosterei (production of apple juice). Niemann came back into the hands of its rightful owner and is in early 90s vekocht and is used for furniture storage. In 1997, the Molkerei in possession of a blacksmith art which went bankrupt in 2001. Since that time, the sale Niemann stood until we bought in March 2008. Initially the intention was to entirely to renovate for personal occupation. The charm and beauty of the surroundings and the space that was present was more the idea of ??other people to enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty that this area offers. We too were surprised by the beautiful and undiscovered south of the Harz. From October 2008 we started with the realization of our plans. First we began with the draining of the first apartment. Because the ground behind the house to the eaves, this house was more comfortable than an indoor house. We have ground to a depth of 3 meters away and dug a drainage system charged. The first winter was a surprise for us. Despite numerous assurances that the most snow is not here noticed, but only from Bad Sachsa (6 km) earnest takes we had from 25 December until early March, nearly every morning clearing snow to the garage to come and walkways Fri to maintain. We almost started to crave warm rain! The winter was long and cold, but full of snow. The advantage was that our children suddenly came almost every week for skiing, cross country and - even fun - sledding. It was winter fun. Meanwhile, our work continues. Thanks to a friend of ours we have survived the cold (regular - 20 degrees). He had given us a hot air gun which he no longer used, and with the help of 750 liters of oil was the factory to keep above zero. In May 2009 was the first house ready. We first lived here in 2 months to look and feel if it was good for rentals. After this "trial period" we have found good for rental in July and then put in the rental. Here live is the best choice we have made. Offers the tranquility of the area inspires us and gives us a lot of energy to to go. We hope and are sure that you as our guest here present, has the same experience!
In the house are 2 (large) bedrooms for a total of 6 people. There is the possibility to have rooms to rent for max 4 persons, with an additional toilet / shower in the Niemann itself. The rent is based on 4 persons, the penalty pp please see the price and the price for an extra bedroom.
The municipality Hohenstein was founded in 1996 as part of the reclassification of Thuringia and consists of 9 villages, namely: Fire Red, Holbach, Klettenberg, Liebe Red, Limlingerode, Mack Red, Obersachswerfen, Dungen and Trebra Schie. In the church life about 2700 inhabitants, of which about 400 in Klettenberg. The municipality extends over an area of ??approximately 60 km2. At a distance of 200 meters is a swimming pool for you and the children. The Harz is northernmost mountain range in Germany. It is basically a large green park, with extensive forests, peaks over 1000 meters to reach with attractive towns and villages. If the Harz mountains could talk .... The area has experienced quite a lot. There is here a huge chunk (recent) history. Until 1989, there was West - and East Germany. The border between these countries ran through the Harz, and what portion of the east heard, has long been visited only by people who might come. Part of the boundary ran along and over the past Brocken, the highest part of the Harz. Because the military importance than the Russians had several listening posts placed on this mountain. You can take a steam train up and remains of this monitoring station visit and enjoy the fantastic views of the Harz. For a historical overview is Bad Sachsa museum to visit. The museum tells you what life at the time of the "Iron Curtain" looked like. Although not always obvious where the border was at that time, the difference in villages and towns in former East Germany were still visible, including in homes and streets. Already have made way for Trabants and Wartburgs Mecedes and BMW. What is perhaps less known is the fact that the nearby Harz a great destination for winter sports. The slopes are or are not comparable with the Alps, but the possibilities for by-country skiing are unique, but skiing is perfectly possible, especially in Braunlage and St. Andrew Berg. The ski plate Braunlage is located on the south slope of Wurmberg and the St. Andrew Mountain is the highest resort in the Harz. If after a long day the day will close in one of many restaurants, dare you once to one of the skinny types of cheese here is very much eaten or how about "Hackus und Knee Star"? Be surprised! In Nordhausen was during the Second World War the production of the V1en V2 rockets. This former Dora camp is open every day, with the possibility of a tour of the caves where the production took place. The camp is a large museum containing detailed information about this period of German history. There are also theme exhibitions present varied over this period. Within 1 hour drive you are in the Thüringerwald where you will find extensive forests with many hiking opportunities and stunning scenery. With the cities of Erfurt and Weimar also ideal for city breaks and cultural beauty.
Do you like peace and space?
culture?

Welcome to the Harz, especially in the South Harz. In this former DDR Harz you will still find the details and tranquility of the Harz as it was in the last century around 1950.
In the northern part of the Harz there is more tourists activity and there are atractions for the children.
Culture abound, nature for figuring out.
The choice is yours !!
