Holiday house

Haus am pilzgrund

Unwind in our holiday home in the wild "Haus am Pilzgrund" Tanne in the foothills of the Harz (Germany).

Our house is centrally located in the unspoiled natural beauty of the Harz Mountains just across the border in East Germany at 350km across the Dutch border.

The Harz is a beautiful mountainous area with great diversity of hiking trails, scenery and sights. Peace, space and nature.

For the summer there are plenty of pools and waldseebaden in the vicinity, 5km away from the Waldseebad Trautenstein to find.

Our detached house is situated on the outskirts of the village in the countryside on approx 1000m2 of land. The village is within walking distance where you in the morning with delicious fresh bread 5 minutes walk you get to the famous Brockenbäcker of Tannenberg.

The Harz is for many Dutch still a relatively unknown part of Germany. The Harz is one of the most beautiful middle in Germany. The Harz has much to offer in natural beauty, so it is ideally suited for hiking and mountain biking. Where summer hikers and nature lovers are catered for, its winter snow enthusiasts outnumbered. Especially the ski centers Braunlage (8km), Hohegeiss, Schierke Hahnenklee, Wildemann and St. Andrew Berg are very popular. Absolutely there is snow in winter, but enough snow, the holiday still 500 km cross country ski slopes and several at his disposal. The Harz attracts winter contemporary snowboarders and skiers carve, but also people who prefer the alternative winter sports: tobogganing, snowshoeing and dog sled racing. But the culture Harz offers more as cultural delights in Goslar, Quedlinburg (both included in the UNESCO World Heritage) the Kyffhäuser Denkmal Ilsenburg, Bath or Sachsa Stolberg, where our royal family originated. Also impressive is the former concentration camp "Mittelbau Dora" to visit where a rock-cut factory V2 missiles were produced. From ancient times, various DDR (outdoor) border museums (Sorge, Tettenborn) to visit. Sights / activiteitenIn the Harz is beside the natural beauty much more to see and do in our house are many leaflets, booklets and maps available. Some examples: The highest mountain in the Harz, the Brocken (1142m), you can walk or climb with an authentic steam train. The steam trains of the HarzerSchmalspurBahnen (HSB) maintained an intensive train service between the towns of old locomotives Wernigerode, Nordhausen and. The most spectacular ride is a special climb through the line to the Brocken, the highest point in northern Germany. If you Wernigerode departs from the train climbs of about 200m to 1142m.Absoluut worth a visit Thale, where the river Bode bottom of the huge deeply cut Bodetal flows. A cable car takes you from the valley to one side (Hexentanzplatz) and a chairlift to the other side (Rosstrappe) up. Once above this place offers a spectacular view over jagged rocks. Here are also the Mountain Theatre, a wildlife park and a wonderful toboggan run. Descending a mountain bike for bikers on a specially built mountain bike trail also possible.
