The detached holiday home with its living room, separate kitchen, 2 bedrooms, hall and bathroom is not large (55 m2) but attractive and fully equipped. The cottage is beautifully situated at an altitude of 500 meters, in a green nature park, within walking distance of the village of Lissendorf in the Volcanic Eifel. Around the house is a spacious forest garden (400 m2) with a sunny and sheltered terrace. Plenty of privacy, but not isolated. The bakery and the supermarket are about 2.4 km away. It is an ideal place for those who are looking for peace and quiet, who love sporting challenges (mountain biking, hiking, golf, tennis), who are looking for a unique winter experience or just want to recharge for the hectic everyday life.
The park is located against an originally wooded Eifel slope where space was made in the 80s for private (holiday) homes with spacious and wooded gardens. There are no communal facilities in the park. The house is accessible from the parking lot via an illuminated walkway (40 meters). Due to its location against the hill, the house has a playful character on 2 levels. It is comfortably furnished and centrally heated. The wood stove provides the authentic atmosphere and with the WIFI and the satellite TV (Dutch channels) the contact with the outside world is never far away. A great place for those who don't need anything. Those who need to burn off energy can enjoy mountain bike trails and varied hiking trails across fields, forests and villages. Nature starts in the front garden. In winter there are (limited) skiing and cross-country skiing opportunities about 25 km from Lissendorf.
In contrast to the Belgian Ardennes, the Eifel is relatively unknown to the Dutch, which is actually strange because the area is just as close and is at least as beautiful. Unique too, with its ancient volcanoes and crater lakes. Moreover, the Eifel is less overrun by tourists, there are affordable restaurants, villages with houses in pastel shades and bakeries with a wide variety of tasty bread. In addition to the varied nature, there are also nice trips to make. From Lissendorf you can make (half) day trips to castles (Manderscheid), small museums, zoos, beer breweries (Bittburg) and beautiful half-timbered towns such as Bad Munstereifel and Kronenburg. With the Eifel Express, the cities of Trier and Cologne are worth seeing in 11/2 hours from the station (temporarily out of use) in Lissendorf. And the Eifel residents? They are just hospitable, helpful and don't make a fuss.
At the beginning of 2025 we renovated our house and from mid-April 2025 we will rent out the house through a new contract with Micazu. Our nice review average (8.7) disappears from the picture as a result, but given the previous reactions, we are confident that you will enjoy it too.
