Holiday cottage Kalkeifel

Holiday home "Kalkeifel" is located in the middle of the Eifel in a rural location. The house stands together with similar houses on a hill in a wooded area. The holiday home has a nice terrace to enjoy the outside and inside the wood stove, among other things, creates a cozy atmosphere. From the holiday home you can make beautiful walks, mountain bike and cycling trips. The location is also convenient for day trips to Cologne, Bonn, Aachen, Trier, Cochem and Koblenz.

In consultation you may bring a maximum of 1 dog.

Description of the house

From the partially covered terrace you enter the living room with wood stove, TV with Dutch and German channels, DVD player, sofa, extra chair. An open kitchen adjoins the living room. The open kitchen has a refrigerator with freezer, a 4-burner electric stove, dishwasher, oven / microwave and Nespresso and Senseo coffee machine. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The main bedroom has a double bed of 1.6mx2m. The small bedroom has two single beds of 0.8x1.9m. The house is suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults with two children. The holiday home can be heated with electric heating and, preferably, with the wood stove. Wireless internet is available.
The holiday home is detached and has one private parking space on site. The garden is more of a forest garden with a number of beeches, some large shrubs and an open area for the terrace.

If you want to charge an electric car, please contact the landlord. There is a specially made 240v socket near the parking lot. The landlord can switch this socket on and off remotely. The socket is equipped with an electricity meter.

The rental price includes bed, bath and kitchen linen, a reasonable consumption of water, firewood and wireless internet. 50 euros cleaning fee will be charged. A deposit of 150 euros is required. Electricity is settled with the refund of the deposit at the then current price per kWH.

Standard changeover day for arrival and departure is Saturday. In the high season this means that the rental period is at least 7 days, outside the high season you can consult us for eg 5, 6 or 7 days. Please contact us for this. Arrival after 4 pm, departure before 10 am.

Environment

Ahrdorf is a small village on the upper reaches of the river Ahr and is almost on the border of North Rhine-Westphalia with Rheinland Pfalz. Ahrdorf has a café, a camping site, a restaurant and a children's playground.
Ahrdorf is located in the municipality of Blankenheim. The area is called the Kalkeifel. The Klakeifel borders directly on the Ahr-Eifel, the Vulkan Eifel, the Rur Eifel, the North Eifel. With a car ride of 30-40 km you are suddenly in a completely different area, such as the wine-growing area on the lower reaches of the river Ahr, or the volcanic lakes near Daun.
The area around Ahrdorf is characterized by a valley with the river Ahr, sometimes wide "high" plains with meadows and arable land, and then again extensive forest areas through which quiet stream valleys run.
The "Ahr-Radweg", a cycle path that follows the valley of the river Ahr to the Rhine, runs through Ahrdorf. The "Kalkeifel-Radweg" also starts in Ahrdorf towards Hillesheim. A mountain bike route of the "Rad-Arena" runs a few kilometers away. Furthermore, all slopes invite to be climbed with a racing bike.
Many hiking trails of the Eifelverein run in the immediate vicinity and a number of long-distance hiking trails of the Eifelverein run past the village. There are also a number of circular walks to follow from the village.
There are many idyllic places in the area with a historic village center, such as Blankenheim and Bad Münstereifel, for example. Only 15 km away is the Nürnburgring which is a paradise for car racing enthusiasts.
Just 9 km away is a small lake with a sunbathing area (Freilinger See). Kronenburg also has a beautiful reservoir with a sunbathing area. A large tropical swimming pool (Badewelt Euskirchen) has been opened in Euskirchen for several years now. There is also an indoor swimming pool in Bad Münster Eifel (Eifelbad) and in Mechernich there is an indoor swimming pool that also has a sauna complex (Eifel-Therme-Zikkurat).
