Fisherman's house on the river

On the river Cure, at the foot of picturesque Vézelay, there are two authentic holiday homes for rent, including this Fisherman's House. Vézelay is a medieval pilgrimage town. It has a special thousand-year-old monastery church dedicated to Mary Magdalene. On old pilgrim roads you walk through the most beautiful nature. The fisherman's house has a spacious yard and is located on a quiet street. There is a canopy with a picnic table. Especially when it is hot or raining, it is a good place to be. In one of the two old vaulted cellars you have large basins where once the fish caught in the river were allowed to swim around. How old the house is is unknown, at least centuries. Behind the house is a large garden.

From the yard you come over a wide staircase to a house-wide balcony where you can sit comfortably. Among other things, it gives access to the kitchen. The spacious kitchen is a good place to be. The kitchen is new and equipped with dishwasher, oven, etc. You can sit there comfortably, and you can also call the whole world and use the internet for free. Next to the kitchen is the spacious living room (1 bed), with bookcase (novel and non-fiction), and music system. This so-called 'gigajukebox' contains many hundreds of CD recordings (different genres), and your own CDs or USB stick with music can also be played on it. There is also a DVD player with quality movies. Out of season, the kitchen and living room can be heated with electric heaters or with the cozy wood stoves.

In the room behind the living room, a staircase has been made to the garden room below that gives access to the garden. This sunny garden is sixteen meters deep and leads to the river. You have a beautiful view of the hills on the other side with forests and meadows. On the right is the old bridge. There is garden furniture and a barbecue. For the tenants there are two canoes with which you can sail on the river - up and down at the house, or long trips along villages upstream and downstream. There are also two bicycles, mountain bikes, with which you can also go straight through the woods and meadows. For children there is a swing and other garden toys such as a bath. You can play in the river, and cool off in hot weather. The house is located on a quiet street (if desired, a car can be parked on private property). For those who want entertainment outside the door: the village also has a café and a restaurant.
