The region: Burgundy, the Tuscany of France
In the Morvan is the Parc National de Morvan . Montigny is located on the edge of the Parc, a protected natural area, in the Bas-Morvan. Water is one of the characteristics of this area. Rivers, lakes, streams, streams, a little bit of everything. You can catch trout, whitewater canoeing, and swim. It is an undulating, lovely landscape with forests, hills, ramparts and waters and lakes. Some call it the Tuscany of France.

Close by and visible from the house is Quarré les Tombes, a beautiful village with an old church where the tombs are located, a place of interest. At the end of July/beginning of August there is the Festival Eclectic. Definitely worth it! Near Quarré les Tombes is the culinary star restaurant L'auberge de l'atre
Fishing
There is a lot of fishing in the morvan. If you walk a bit down from our house you have a beautiful fishing spot. At least when we do our daily running round, we always see French fishermen standing on the bridge. For fishing you need a fishing card
Bicycles
The Morvan has a network of cycle paths for VTT (mountain bikes). But you can also make beautiful trips on small roads from village to village on a regular bicycle with gears or a racing bicycle.
