The downstairs bedrooms can be a bit on the damp side because there is no heating throughout the winter season. In the summer, that's gone again.
That's because of the floor. We have chosen to leave the beautiful old floor as it is. There are even carved large bluestone slabs in the floor that are from an old Roman road, so we are told. Once in a while we varnish the floor. Then it is less humid. I think we should do that again.
WiFi:
The wifi amplifier was apparently broken, it has been replaced and now the internet is working again.
TV:
We don't use the dish anymore. That hadn't been mentioned yet. The TV now works with your own provider and your login code, streaming is very handy. But then the internet has to do it.
TOILET:
We have a skeptical tank. With a lot of guests and a lot of toilet paper use, it can get clogged. This is really no fun for the tenant either. That is why it was decided to deposit paper in the pedal bin.
Maybe not so fancy, but better safe than sorry. I will discuss with the contractor whether there are other options.
All in all, glad you had a good time. It is indeed a beautiful place and much to enjoy. Since this year, Quarre les Tombes has hosted a cultural festival. We enjoyed a beautiful opera in the church there.
Hopefully you will come back again.

The house is indeed authentic and that is the charm in my opinion of the house.
Built from stacked stones, as is built here in the region. You will hardly find any new construction in this region. All the houses here are "very" old and that is so beautiful about the region and France.
The house used to be a grange. We have kept the original details as much as possible, for example, we have made the balustrade from the rack from which the cows ate the hay. The old beams are visible and the walls are coarsely plastered. This is a deliberate choice.
But, of course, you have to love it. I think it's a matter of taste and about taste....

So all in all it's not too bad, but a modern house might suit you more.
