In the middle of the Var department (Provence region), in the idyllic village of Bargemon, lies this beautiful and recently renovated detached house.
Bargemon is located between the Côte d'Azur (40 min drive) and the Gorges du Verdon (approx. 60 min drive), near the picturesque towns of Fayence, Callas and Seillans. The village itself is located in mountainous areas, is rustic and exudes timelessness. The main square is lined with old lime trees and the old alleys with fountains make it an authentic Provençal village.
The village (walking distance 5 minutes) has bakeries (3), butcher, several restaurants and cafes, a local supermarket and several boutiques.
In addition to a relaxing holiday, the area is also ideal for a shorter or longer stay focused on walking/hiking, cycling/cycling, golf (there are beautiful golf courses in the vicinity) and canoeing/rafting (Gorges du Verdon). And with the Mediterranean Sea within reach, the possibilities are endless.
The house itself is located on the edge of the forest in an upper neighborhood at the top of the village, near the center and offers privacy and tranquility. There is room for 3 cars in the parking lot on site.
The land (approx. 1500 m2) is slightly sloping, in the garden there are old olive trees and cypresses. The terrace is south facing, which means sun from early morning until late at night (with more than enough shade). There is an unobstructed view over the mountains, the valley and an olive grove. From the terrace you have a view of the lower spacious swimming pool (private). Under the foliage it is good to stay in the shade on hot days.
Upon entering the house, you immediately notice the spacious and characteristic conservatory/veranda. This provides natural coolness in the house. In addition, it is a nice place to sit in case it is a bit chilly outside, or to look out over the garden. The studio is accessible from the conservatory (with its own entrance). You can also reach the rest of the house from the conservatory.
The studio (air conditioning) with four-poster bed has its own bathroom (shower) and separate WC, as well as patio doors to the terrace. If desired, an extra bed can be placed in this spacious room on request. N.B. the studio and bathroom will be completely renovated in the spring of 2025 in the style of the other bedrooms and bathrooms).
The kitchen is equipped with all desired conveniences. A large 5-burner stove with large oven, dishwasher, double sink, microwave. The kitchen was completely renovated in 2024. All conceivable electrical appliances are present including Nespresso, filter coffee machine, juicer, etc. The kitchen is also fully equipped with new kitchen knives, glasses, plates and cutlery. In the separate utility room there are two refrigerators (one with freezer), washing machine, vacuum cleaner. There is also plenty of storage space.
The living/dining room has a fireplace. The TV is equipped with Chromecast so you can stream all the programs and movies you want from your phone or tablet. There are various games available that can be used freely.
The bedroom/bathroom area on the ground floor is accessible from the living room (see floor plan and photos). The bathroom (new) has a bath with shower and two separate sinks. There is also a separate toilet in the hall. There are two bedrooms (air conditioning) on the ground floor of the main house. One with one bed of 140*200 and one with two beds of 90*200. Both have patio doors on the garden/terrace side and with separate shutters (as do all bedrooms). An extra bed can be placed in one of the two bedrooms if desired. By the way, all beds have new slatted bases and new mattresses.
The Vide floor is also accessible from the living room. Here is the 3rd bathroom (new) with a very spacious walk-in shower, sink and toilet. In addition, there is a small bedroom with a 1-person bed and there is a larger bedroom (with air conditioning) with another double bed of 160*200. This room has a window on the garden side and also has shutters that can be closed in the evening.
The garage is located next to the house. In it you will find, among other things, a large gas BBQ/outdoor kitchen, table tennis table, Jeu de Boules, swimming pool equipment and tools.
We work with a local concierge. She takes care of reception, cleaning, garden and pool maintenance and is available during the stay in case there is a need for it.
