Lovely light and spacious house in the beautiful region of the Lot. The house has been luxuriously and comfortably renovated. It is located in nature, in the middle of a (private) forest, but still close to cities such as Cahors, Gourdon and fifteen minutes from the Dordogne.
Renovation
Two years ago, our house got two new natural stone bathrooms, a new luxury kitchen, new red shutters and a new well-insulated roof.
Enjoy nature!
The house is located in the nature reserve Le Quercy. On the spacious south-facing terrace you sit in a small green oasis with a view of the garden and oak trees and the occasional fawn that jumps by or a butterfly that flutters in from the forest.
Lots to do!
The sights of the Dordogne are all close by, but you avoid the tourist crowds in the Lot, because we are just outside the Dordogne in a part of France that is still completely authentic. In the Lot you will find a nice mix of culture and nature. Beautiful villages, rolling hills and nice markets. There is a swimming pool 5 kilometers away. Nearby there are also lakes and a beach for swimming or fishing in the Lot.

Practical
The house is located in the heart of the Le Quercy nature reserve. The area is suitable for people who like walking and cycling in a rich and varied nature, but you can also swim or fish and canoe in the river Lot, take a wine tour along the many wine castles or visit the museum of the sculptor Zadkine which is a fifteen-minute drive away.
Good markets nearby and delicious regional cuisine. Our house is also a good base for attractions such as Rocamadour, Padirac, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Cahors, Figeac, Souillac and Domme.
Environment
The Lot is a beautiful region in the south of France, where rolling hills and authentic villages provide a friendly holiday atmosphere in this region that is called the Tuscany of France. Small-scale agriculture and forest determine the landscape.
Electric bicycles can be rented nearby. You can also go horseback riding, golf, tennis or canoeing nearby. There are also many regional markets, numerous festivities and festivals in the summer and small wine estates that you can visit on a wine tour.
Towns such as Cahors and Figeac are nice to visit, as well as the caves in Cougnac and Peche Merle, a number of castles or the beautiful valley of the river Lot. Rocamadour, the pilgrimage site of the Black Madonna built on a rock, is definitely worth a visit. The crack in the earth at Padirac is also fascinating and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, one of the most beautiful villages in France, is also nice for a trip.
