This attractive French holiday home for six people is located on a private, fenced property with a private swimming pool. The property is in a quiet location on the outskirts of the small village of Frangouille, in the Parc Régional du Haut-Languedoc. From the terrace you can enjoy a magnificent view of the mountains. Within walking distance is the river Orb, where you can swim, kayak or fish.
From the kitchen you walk directly onto the spacious terrace. Here there is a wooden dining table for six to eight people and a barbecue. The terrace connects to the swimming pool. In the front garden is a jeu-de-boules court, also known as a pétanque court. There is also a fig tree, the fruits of which you can pick to eat with soft goat cheese on a warm baguette from the oven. Wifi and a TV with Dutch channels via NLZIET are available.
A small supermarket is one kilometre away, where you can buy fresh baguettes and croissants. Larger supermarkets, such as Carrefour and Intermarché, as well as bakeries, other shops and the market on Mondays and Saturdays can be found in Bédarieux.
Many nice trips are possible in the area. For example, Pézenas is a historic town known for its well-preserved old town, with narrow streets and lively arts and crafts shops. Near Pézenas, you can enjoy beautiful walks around Mourèze, through an impressive landscape of limestone and rock formations: the Cirque de Mourèze. After the hike, you can go for a refreshing dip at the nearby Lac du Salagou, with panoramic views over the red volcanic landscape.
We are enthusiastic about the market of Lamalou-les-Bains because of the fresh oysters on Tuesday morning. The markets in Clermont-l'Hérault (Wednesday) and in Lodève (Saturday) are also recommended.
Of course, it is also near the coast, where you can relax on the beach. We always go to Valras-Plage or Sérignan Plage.
