Our Gîte À l'orée du bois is located on our property. You will have your own accommodation and can enjoy the green surroundings. We are nearby for questions, tips or help during your stay.

Just 15 minutes from the Dordogne, À l'orée du bois is an ideal base for exploring the region. Discover charming villages, local markets, hiking trails and vast nature reserves, or simply enjoy the peace and space around the gîte.

Wake up to birdsong, take a walk through the surrounding forests and end the day under a clear starry sky. A wonderful place for couples looking for relaxation, nature, silence, clean air and the charm of the French outdoors.

Recently we took the step to move to France in search of sun, space and tranquility, which is exactly what we want to offer our guests.

Directly from the gîte you walk into the woods of Marval, a beautiful and wooded area where you can enjoy the surroundings.

Cyclists can also indulge themselves on the nearby Voie Verte, a car-free cycle path that runs through the green landscape of the region.

On hot days, the lakes of Saint-Estèphe and Saint-Mathieu offer plenty of opportunities to swim, relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Within walking distance (through the forest) is Marval. In the cozy épicerie you can get fresh baguettes every day and find the most important daily necessities. For larger groceries, there are supermarkets in the vicinity.

The nearest supermarkets are in Cussac and in Piégut-Pluviers, this is an attractive village, you will find a few restaurants, a bakery, a butcher, a nice café and on Wednesday morning of course the cozy weekly market.

Visit picturesque villages.

Oradour-sur-Glane: The impressive memorial village, an open-air museum reminiscent of WWII.

Caves & natural wonders: Like the caves of Villars.

Piégut-Pluviers market: Every Wednesday morning, don't miss one of the liveliest and largest markets in the Périgord. With more than 100 stalls in winter and more than 200 in summer, you will find all kinds of local and regional products. It is a meeting place where you hear all languages mixed with dialect.
