This holiday home is part of an ensemble that was once a large farmhouse. The holiday home is situated in what used to be the barn and stables for the cows. Everything has been rebuilt and renovated and equipped with all modern conveniences.
The large living room includes a wood stove and is equipped with TV, DVD and satellite. From the living room you walk into the open and fully equipped kitchen.
In the kitchen there is a large and cozy kitchen table where you can dine. Furthermore, the kitchen contains a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, a large fridge with freezer and all other kitchen appliances that make your stay a luxurious holiday. On the ground floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed and bathroom en suite.
From the kitchen you walk through 2 large patio doors into the lovely garden. Here you will find garden furniture, a playground for the children, plenty of shady spots and of course a beautiful swimming pool (8 x 4 m). The pool is shared with the manager(s), if any.
On the 1st floor you will find 3 bedrooms: one bedroom with a double bed, the other 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds. A bathroom with toilet and shower complete this floor. Each bedroom also has plenty of closet space to store clothes and other items.
In the summer it is on average 5 degrees warmer here than in the Netherlands. Trips and trips in the area can therefore be a welcome change in addition to enjoying the peace, the sun, the pool and lazing around. How about a visit to the cool caves of Villars, shopping in Limoges, Angouleme or Perigueux, a visit to the castle of Jumilhac (very large and almost completely accessible), swimming in the various lakes in the vicinity of the holiday home or walking and cycling in the sun or shade.
In spring and autumn it is also good to stay in the area. The area is characterized by its rolling landscape, many vast farmlands and forests and especially the many castles.
In Chalus, a town less than 5 km away, King Richard the Lionheart was killed by an arrow in the early Middle Ages. The castle, at least part of it, can still be admired. The castle is part of the Richard Lionheart route, a route that includes many castles, country houses and especially delicious restaurants.
When you drive further south, you will find yourself in the beautiful Dordogne with places like Perigueux, Thiviers and Brantome.
All in all, the environment is very varied and there is something for everyone. Absolute tranquility, accompanied by sounds that belong to the countryside make your stay a true experience when it comes to relaxing, good food and enjoying whatever it can be ....
We hope to welcome you and that you especially enjoy our holiday home and the surroundings!
It may be annoying to report, but charging an electric car is not possible and not allowed. However, this is possible in the nearby village.
See you soon and Au Revoir!
