Our apartment "Albane" in Vars Les Claux is really on the slopes in
the Forêt Blanche ski area. The sunny and perched ski area
has 185 km of slopes. The ski resort is located at an altitude between 1650m and
2750m. From our apartment you can ski away in no time. The apartment
itself is located at an altitude of 1900m. So you can go in all directions. The ski school and the
Beginner lifts are a few meters away.
Thanks to the famous Chabrieres slope, Vars is known worldwide for its
legendary descent that is the scene of the
World Speed Skiing Championships.
In the past, all apartments were rented out by Pierre et Vacances, but our
We prefer to manage the apartment ourselves. It is located on the ground floor in
the same building where the heated private outdoor pool
(opening hours on the Pierre et Vacances site) and the winter
and summer sports shop (also ski rental).
Our luxury apartment is suitable for up to 5 people (smoking and pets
not allowed).

In the part of Albane opposite ours is a recreation room.
There is also a laundry room with washing machine and dryer
(paying).
The building has a private parking space (with barrier) for the tenants
and owners.
Vars is located in the middle of the Queras Regional Natural Park and in the nature reserve
the Val d'Escrins is a great place to walk and barbecue on a fixed
Barbecues. Our village is close to Guillestre, Embrun, Lac de
Serre-Ponçon (sailing, swimming) the largest artificial lake in
Europa, Barcelonnette and Saint Véran (the highest inhabited village
in Europe and chosen as one of the most beautiful villages in
France) and Briançon. You can also go rafting in the area,
horseback riding, fishing. In the area you can still see many defensive forts of Vauban.
The Tour de France also regularly passes over the Col de Vars and through Vars. In the
summer there are opportunities for (day) trips in the Alps,
mountain biking, cycling (some weekends the passes are only for
cyclists and walkers open) and car and motorcycle tours. Also
the mythical mountain passes Galibier, Lautaret, Izoard, Col de Vars and the
Route Napoleon attracts many visitors and day trippers.
