Studio

Les Issambres is a friendly town on the Mediterranean where you can enjoy sun, sea, beach and of course the delicious French cuisine! Studio Corniche is located on one of the hills of Les Issambres. The studio is comfortably furnished and can accommodate up to 4 people (eg 2 adults & 2 children). Quietly situated on a cul-de-sac with a beautiful view over the valley, sea view just around the corner. Here is also the large communal swimming pool from where you have a beautiful view of the bay of St. Tropez. Studio Corniche is the perfect base for day trips to Cannes, Nice or Monaco, for example, but also the smaller picturesque towns such as St. Tropez, Port Grimaud, Gassin or Théoule-sur-Mer are definitely worth a visit.

The studio consists of a living-bedroom with sofa bed (140x190), dining table and open kitchen, a bathroom with bath, a separate toilet and a so-called "coin nuit" with spacious bunk beds (90x200). The terrace offers sufficient privacy and is partly covered. Located on the south-west, you can have a relaxed breakfast in the morning and at the end of the day enjoy the setting sun behind the Col de Bougnon. It is a lovely place with a beautiful view of the surroundings.

You can reach the sea in Les Issambres within a few minutes by car. If you prefer to walk a bit, you can be on the beach in fifteen minutes! Free parking space is available in front of the studio, there is always a place to be found within walking distance.

Since the early 1990s we have been able to enjoy wonderful holidays in various places on the Côte d'Azur in places such as La Croix Valmer, St. Tropez, Les Issambres and surrounding villages. Both the sweltering high season and the period beyond it each have their own charm and give this region the unique character that we love so much. In the summer of 2015 we found our own 'spot on the mountain' in Les Issambres!
Have fun in Studio Corniche!

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

An hour's drive from Studio Corniche, the foothills of the Southern Alps are waiting to be explored. Above Nice, the roads begin their winding route through the gorges and tunnels of the Alpes Maritimes and, after another hour's drive, take you to resorts such as La Colmiane, Auron or Isola 2000. In winter, this region is an ideal base for a trip to the snow or a day of skiing, in all other periods ideally suited for a brisk mountain walk through the impressive Parc National du Mercantour. This is one of the seven National Parks of France with mountain peaks that rise above 3000 m.
Another recommendation is the Gorges du Verdon , also called the Grand Canyon du Verdon. Almost a two-hour drive away, this impressive gorge is located on the border of the Var and Alpes-de-Provence departments, carved out by the Verdon River over a length of 25 km. The gorge is surrounded by an extensive natural park and ends in the Lac de Sainte-Croix reservoir. For real walkers, part of the GR4 runs here from Riez to Castellane! Google for more info!
Is this all just a bit too much? A smaller walk is of course also possible! Simply stay a little closer to home and climb the Col de Bougnon (155 m!) directly from the studio and from there walk around the mountain in about 2 to 3 hours, after which you will eventually be back home just in time. for a well-deserved drink on the terrace!
There is of course no shortage of beautiful beaches and picturesque bays on this part of the southern French coast. Starting from Les Issambres, the entire coastal strip of Ste. Maxime to Frejus is a varied set of sandy and rocky beaches, which are still very busy even in the high season. Towards Ste. Maxime is the beach of Nartelle, a long strip with clubs & loungers alternating with stretches of public beach, so there is something for everyone. Just try something, have a nice lunch by the sea at noon or spend a day lounging on a bed.
Towards Frejus there are several small bays and beaches, often with a restaurant so that the inner man can also be taken care of. Just outside Saint-Aygulf begins a vast stretch of beach (with a naturist section halfway) that continues to Fréjus. Hardly any catering establishments, but at the beginning there is Bleu et Blanc for a snack with a beautiful view over the bay! The 4 breakwaters have formed shallow bays, a play paradise for the smaller beach lovers among us.
Finally, to the south, the Plage de Pampelonne remains a real must-see. If you have already made it to St. Tropez, just take a bit of the D93 (exit Chemin des Moulins, park at Moorea Plage) and you will be on your way within 15 minutes. one of the most fashionable beaches in the region. A colorful mix of trendy clubs, yachts and helicopters, interspersed with sun worshipers on mats with cool bags and parasols. Everything is good!
Plan a day out to one of the famous towns or villages on the Cote d'Azur. Nice and close or a little further away. Monaco (est. 1297) is a bit of a drive, but then you have something! With an area of 2.02 km2, it is the smallest country in the world after Vatican City, and with more than 30,000 inhabitants it is also the most populous independent state in the world. Do you immediately remember what a tax haven is like in the summer?
Nice is a little less far away, visits are usually limited to the airport, but that does us a serious disservice to this city. In recent centuries, Nice fell under French, Spanish and Italian (Sardinia) rule, and it was not until 1860 that Nice finally joined France. The Italian influence can still be found in the Vieille Ville with its bilingual street names. Also take part in the climb of the Colline du Chateau and a walk along the Boulevard d'Anglais, finishing in style with a Salade Niçoise on a terrace!
Of a completely different caliber is the picturesque village of Gassin , on top of the hills around St. Tropez and Pampelonne with views over the Massif des Maures, the vineyards of Minuty and the bay of St. Tropez. This produces particularly beautiful pictures, especially around dusk. Eating at one of the local restaurants is certainly not a punishment, with Le Pescadou as our favorite. Ramatuelle is a stone's throw from here and has an even smaller old center, through the gate next to the Office de Poste and a walk through the winding streets, great! Then a Pastis in Cafe de L'Ormeau on the square, deliciously French!
Of course, St. Tropez, as the beating heart of the region, should not be missing from the list. An old classic is Café Sénéquier, known for films starring Brigitte Bardot and Louis de Funes. With around 600,000 visitors per year, it is apparently the ultimate place for many to enjoy a (particularly pricey) drink! Enjoy and look around! There is always something beautiful to see in the area, be surprised by what else this region has to offer in addition to sun, sea and beach!
While for some people the perfect holiday consists of not having to do anything at all (and especially doing nothing!), for others it is the perfect opportunity to really get into it. For the latter group, there is also plenty to do around Studio Corniche. In addition to a number of sporting activities on the mainland (such as golf, tennis, cycling, mountain biking, walking & running), there is of course also a wide range of water sports activities on this sunny border between land and sea.
To start off quietly, swim, snorkel or dive in the azure waters around Les Issambres. But there is also plenty to do above water! Rent a kayak for a trip along the coast and visit the beautiful bays that await you. Don't feel like paddling? Grab a sailboat, surfboard or pedal boat for some fun in the Bay of St. Tropez . Everything is available for rent in the region, but make sure you reserve at least a day in advance, which will save you a lot of disappointment. If all this doesn't go fast enough, half an hour of Jetskiing might offer a solution.
If there is nothing in this colorful collection of sports & relaxation that evokes the real French holiday feeling, then there is only one thing left: Grab the wooden suitcase from the bottom of the cupboard, put on the Alpine cap and set off at a relaxed pace towards the nearest Jeu de Boules court in Les Issambres for an authentic game of Petanque!
Just add a Grand Creme or a Pastis and you are more French than the French!
