Locronan, Locronan means place of Ronan, an Irish monk who lived here in the 5th century AD. and after whom this church is named. The houses around the square are beautifully preserved, a masterpiece of civil architecture from the 16/17th century.

In CARNOËT (near Carhaix) in the valley of the saints there are 115 of these 4 meter high granite statues, each with its own story. In July and August you can see a sculptor at work.
