Acacia Dordogne

Acacia is a wonderful house to enjoy your holiday in peace. The Dordogne is a very nice region with a lot to do. The house is located just in the Perigord Pourpre (purple the color of the wine) and on the edge of a small "hamlet" called Lentignac which is part of the municipality of Sainte Alvère. The more famous places in the area are Le Bugue, Sarlat, Perigueux and Bergerac.

Transavia flies from Amsterdam to Bergerac almost all year round for very attractive prices. You can also rent a car there for about 200 euros per week.

The house is quiet but not isolated, but there is a lot to do in the immediate vicinity, such as visiting caves such as gouffre de Proumeyssac, gouffre de Lascaux and gouffre de Rouffignac, or chateaus, such as Castelnaud, Beynac and Milandes (Josephine Baker).

In addition, there are the weekly markets, the flea markets and especially the night markets (marché nocturnes) are very cozy and where you can also eat well. Horse riding and tennis are also possible in the immediate vicinity. For those who love golf, 15 minutes from the house is the most beautiful golf course in the Dordogne, namely La Marterie in Saint Felix de Reillac, Golf in Perigueux and Lolivarie in Saint Germain de Belvès. For families with children there is a nice children's paradise 15 minutes away from the house where you can spend a day and there is also a survival park Indian Forest at camping le Mondou 1 hour away from the house. In addition to its wines, the area is also known for its truffles.

Right next to the house are truffle trees, les truffières, where in winter the truffles are searched for with a dog. The truffles are traded every Monday morning in Sainte Alvère for as much as 1,000 euros or more per kilo.
